With this movie, the Bourne Trilogy went instant classic. One of the best chase scenes I know of, a much deeper view on the identity of Bourne himself and the memorable 'magazine weapon' fight scene. Worth of a longer review, but I am too lazy today.
I don't think this is a great movie, it's not even better than the first.
The positives are the same as in part one. The movie looks believable, it's not over the top. The stunts are practical and still look good today. But the story is flawed from the beginning on. It's constructed to fit a certain need and because of that is illogical.
No one in the whole CIA questions why on earth a trained super assassin like Bourne leave his fingerprint at a scene. That's the door slammed shut for me right there. It takes until the middle of the movie until some low assistant recognized that and instantly get killed. That's a prime example for a plot to fit a need.
Of course we have bad Russians and a US Government official working with them. That already wasn't original fifteen years ago.
And Marie's death only surves the purpose to remove her from the story so Bourne can go on his business. It had no weight and/or emotional impact at all. If not for the final scene in the first part there wouldn't be a reason for her to be in this at all.
What can I say, it's how I see it.
The movie in itself is good, but god damn, why Mr. Greengrass always hires cameramen with Parkinson. This is the big drawback of this movie for me, every action scenes are ruined because of this.
Best of the bunch, IMO. Wisely, the filmmakers quickly do away with the whole hand-holding innocent civilian tagalong thing and just concentrate on Bourne outsmarting the entire black ops wing of the US government at every turn. With the premise set completely by the first movie, the sequel can feel free to quit worrying about the setup and dive right into the action and weighty plot developments.
Supremacy has several scenes that are more than coincidentally similar to the original, but they’re all amped up a couple notches (rolled up magazine fight > pen fight, taxi tunnel chase scene > Mini Cooper chase scene, etc.) and paired with enough original material to retain a unique identity (no pun intended). The story does a great job of picking up on the dangling threads from the original and wrapping them all up into a rewarding, conclusive finale.
There’s a bit too much shaky-cam in the action scenes for my liking, but this was released when that concept still felt fresh and it does lend a slightly more believable look and feel than what you'll get from the more classic polished Hollywood fight scenes.
This installment of the Bourne series may not hold true to the source novel but is still very well done. The pacing is a perfect mix of action with just the right amount of breaks to fill in story that is often difficult to balance in these movies. I'm not a huge Matt Damon fan but I think he is exceptional in these. He is very believable as a man who is searching for an identity in the middle of being the world's foremost assassin. Great sequence in the closing chase scene in Moscow, nice stunts and just enough ridiculousness to make sure you don't try this at home
This is good. Not better than the first as I thought it was, but still good. Some great action. Also...weird to revisit this and now see that the evil secret ops guy is Karl Urban. Is this what set him off? Was he already a star then and I just didn't know it? Anyway, this is good. So is Dredd.
The car chase was almost art. Music, colours, perfect pace, action that hasn't been seen before. The movie had so little dialogue without losing any plot.
Best Car Chase ever. :D
Paul Greengrass takes the helm of the Bourne series in the exciting and gritty sequel, The Bourne Supremacy. The story continues as Jason Bourne finds himself on the run when he’s setup for the deaths of two CIA agents. Matt Damon, Brian Cox, and Julia Stiles return, and are joined by Joan Allen and Karl Urban. The plot’s overly complicated and isn’t as compelling as the mystery of the first film. And, the action is a bit overcharged and noisy. Yet, The Bourne Supremacy is a smart, well-crafted film that’s thrilling and intense.
Paul “Shakin’ Stevens” Greengrass takes the helm for the two sequels and despite my arsy tone, it was a good step for the franchise. This is a superior film to the former in almost every way, and it’s not as if the bar was low.
It’s faster, more exciting, smarter and incredibly intense from start to finish. Bourne is on the run and barely stops to take a breather, but Greengrass always knows when to change gear as things begin to look monotonous.
Proof that spectacle doesn’t have to come at the expense of story; The Bourne Supremacy is the film that really cements this trilogy as a modern classic.

Just as enjoyable, but ultimately a little better than the original. How can it not be? It has a bit more focus, dives deeper into the character of Jason Bourne, has amazing action and gives us the ultimate weapon to use in a fight: the magazine.
An average film, with confusing action scenes due to excessive shaky camera and quick cuts every minute. The protagonist's motivation is cliché, based on the so-called "woman in the refrigerator".
The story itself is not very interesting and lacks twists, but at least the penultimate scene is excellent and stands out in the context of the film. The last scene could have been unnecessary.
The Bourne Supremacy is an excellent follow-up to the Bourne Identity, and another great film in the series. The movie picks up where the first one left off, and is a thrilling ride filled with fantastic action and a gripping plot. The film's storyline is just as strong as the first, and it is executed brilliantly, with well-choreographed action sequences that keep you on the edge of your seat. Matt Damon continues to deliver a fantastic performance as Jason Bourne, and his portrayal of the character only gets better with each movie. The Bourne Supremacy is another great installment in the series, and it's a must watch for anyone who enjoyed the first film. Overall, The Bourne Supremacy is a great action movie that delivers everything you could want from a sequel.
Top notch. Almost as good as identity but lacked some of the light-hearted bits of the first film and also got slightly more farfetched with the car chase scenes! Still absolutely great.
The Bourne Supremacy is a very good movie. Great story, very good acting, and incredible pacing. What ruins its chances to become one of the all-time greats, is that damn shaky cam. It's noticeable everywhere, but the action scenes get the worst of it. The otherwise excellent car chase gives me motion sickness when viewed on a big TV. That's how bad it is...
Don't get me wrong, The Bourne Supremacy is still a very good movie, but it could have been one of the very best, and that irks me to no end. Shaky cam is a tool for lazy directors...plain and simple.

Rule No. ZERO if you want to survive in a spy movie: never kill THE GIRL !!!
As a German it was cool to see an American movie playing mainly in Germany :D Although it seemed like there where more Russian(?) than German dialogues.
Anyway, it was a nice continuation of the first movie. Not sure if it was better but it was worth watching it (like for the first one).
Another thing that's interesting when watching these Bourne movies in 20201 is seeing how the world looked back then. Especially the cars and computers (as well as other technology) are interesting.
I also appreciate that they've used the same song at the end of the movie. I kinda hope that they'll just use it for every movie :D I especially like the first few seconds with the cool synth.
"It's easy. She's standing right next to you." - Best moment of the whole movie :D
Revenge or the truth gives you peace of mind? ;>
This is such a good movie, but the camera is awful. You can hardly watch the action scenes. After a while, my eyes ached so much that I really suffered. It's a pity and I'm so glad that this shaky camera is no longer used today and we can enjoy a stable image like John Wick.
What a strong taxi. One of my favorite car chase scene.
" It changes things, that knowledge. Doesn't it? When what you love gets taken from you, you wanna know the truth ".......this movie had a tragic start...throughout this film we connect more with bourne and that's the part i like about this.. the fight scenes were great and also the story...exciting from start to finish.....i think i liked this movie more than the first one...and that ending was awesome...in this film, we get the chance to know how cool and love-able this mysterious character is...
Great movie with some great editing. Love the fast nation of this film. Great sequel.
Decent movie. It was a bit too slow for my tastes. Other than that, it wasn't a bad, unenjoyable movie.
Huge fan of these "Bourne" films. Awesome camera work..
This was a Great Movie
Not bad movie I enjoyed it I give a 10 star.
Sound and image 4.5 / 5. Great action movie that should serve as an example of how to do action scenes and car chases
Whoa, whoa, whoa... Jason Bourne is from Missouri. No wonder he's so cool. What I really think is interesting about this series is how consistent it is. There is a bit of a difference between direction between the first one and the second two, but tone and style feel like they match really well. Overall, this is just another section of a really entertaining action/spy film series.
the fight and chase make this favorite by people.my only interisting is the random movement by Bourne.
On par if not even a little better than "Bourne Identity".
I am always entertained with this movie. When I can't find something to watch this is one of my go to movies.

With the change of director comes a greater focus on Bourne as a character as well as a much more frenetic approach to the editing and camerawork that the series has become known for. Supremacy is often seen as the one with the most incoherent action sequences, yet viewed again, its an accusation that is not really supported - perhaps the shift to a smaller screen helps, but the action beats work incredibly well with fights that emphasise brutality and speed and car chases that feel dangerous and tense. Furthermore, the filmmaking approach serves a purpose - Greengrass seems intent on putting the audience in the middle of the action at all times, but also emphasising the character’s viewpoint - Bourne is constantly on the move like the camera and any incoherence in what is shown only serves to highlight what Bourne is going through, culminating in the blur of vehicles and mayhem that make up the final sequence as an injured Bourne struggles on. Damon is again fantastic as Bourne, but here the story is much more interested in exploring the ramifications of Bourne’s past life and how he moves forward with this knowledge and whilst connecting the central story with one of Bourne’s previous missions is perhaps a stretch, it does at least ensure the audience is invested in Bourne himself and not just on the resolution to the central conflict that the film sets up.
