The funniest part of the whole project is how the character created to make fun of the "white Jesus" trope still looks far closer to what historical Jesus would have appeared like, than does anyone else in the movie, including their "real Jesus".
I thoroughly enjoyed this film.
Terrible mess of a movie that had promise but c9ntinualky falls flat on its face. James mcavoy and benediction cumber batch at least bring some life to the film near the end but from the jump this movie doesn't work. It needed a far better script and a vision and direction. The tone needed a lot of honing too.
Very strange "Jesus comedy". Didn't get it.
I honestly don't have a clue what this is. The genre confuses me, the story confuses me, the acting confuses me, the design confuses me, and the cast confuses me. I felt so relieved when it finished. The only thing I know for sure is that they took risks making this. The best thing about this for me was the cinematography and soundtrack. Other than that, it's meaningless to me.
What was this supposed to be? It's certainly not a ha-ha comedy. It's not a drama. It's not even a dramedy. It feels like an epic from the 50s, yet not grandiose in any way. Most of the scenes feel like an acting audition for a college play rather than a film. An interesting concept that doesn't do anything for me. Watchable only if youre stick on an airplane or at a doctor's office.
