Superman: Man of Tomorrow 2020

You know, I don't know how many times they're going to retell Superman's story. Although the stories are slightly different, the retelling of Superman's origins kind of getting old. Sometimes I think these "new" superman movies are more about subtly inject political messages, as they're aware that there are many DC and Marvel fans. I'm not going to say this movie was terrible, but at the same time I wouldn't consider this a "must see."

I dont care for this animation style, reminds me of cheap shockwave animations from the 2000s.

The story is ok but i dont think anyone really needed another early years story.

I would love to see the Superman movies 1-3 reimagined in animation :ok_hand_tone1:

Best thing about the movie was Lobo.

A mediocre Superman tale with some amusing moments, excluding Lobo.

Martian Manhunter's (fake) death scene was terrible and this was movie was kind of boring, despite being less than 1h30min. Lobo was also kind of wasted and the animation felt cheap. I like the new art style, but the presentation just wasn't clicking. Plus, the first act had this weird pauses between action cuts; it was really unnerving. But hey, at least the theme was solid this time around I guess :rolling_eyes::rolling_eyes::rolling_eyes:

Truth be told, it's pretty slow. It feels like they could cut about half an hour out of it and it'd be pretty decent. Not great - the story is pretty barebones and quite generic - but decent.

I do like the art style quite a bit (I love thick linework) so I hope they make more that look like this.

I feel DC animated movies have been very hit or miss in recent years. This one lands in the miss column for me. I’m just kind of done with the Superman origin story and hope they don’t make any more movies about it.
