Son tackles some very steep topics for it's genre and poultry runtime, but manages to maintain a thrilling ride with a claustraophobic atmosphere throughout. While I feel some of it's beats lacked the punch they intended, the reveals and explanations are satisfying enough to call this good overall. Definitely worth a viewing, even if it succumbs to jump scares and LOUD NOISES a few too many times for my liking.
Oh, shit! That ending twist!
So that's why Paul's arm was injured the first time!
Sadly this film didn't work for me as well as I would have preferred. It's a shame because I had such high hopes for this film. It is well-shot and I like that it's creepy and gory but everything else simply didn't land for me. What begins with a promising start slowly turns into another uninspired horror film loaded with clichés and ends with a big reveal that's awfully predictable. The performances never manage to engage me enough to care. What really bothers me is the constant attempts at being funny that end up being cringy and make so many scenes fall flat.
Well, this was better than expected. Veers off in many directions, some of them expected, others less so. Gruesome, gory, and really quite disturbing, this is one of the better horror movies I have seen in a while.
One of the most stupid and boring acting, plot and story ever.
Fo not watch you've been warned
Wow this movie was so fucking good
Surprisingly decent "cult-horror" drama with a good story and twist ending. So was the boy the 'antichrist'? Recommended watch. 6/10
A film that is definitely one of the best things made this year. An interesting story, and a pretty good horror atmosphere. Just unraveling the whole movie could have been better. It was no big surprise in the end, which is a pity that they ruined the end in this way. But he certainly wasn't bored with this film.
Yeah, not bad at all - some neat ideas to keep you guessing until the reveal ending.
However, the speech on the audio soundtrack was awful - I could hardly hear any of the talking so turned the volume up, only to be met with a ear splitting sound for the jump scare music. So, you need to watch this with headphones to fully appreciate it.
Overall - 6/10 - worth a watch, once.
A decent horror movie about child abuse, psychosis, paranoid and demonic delusions.
My guess is that David's condition was inspired by variegate porphyria. It's a type of porphyria that usually manifests as acute attacks of abdominal pain, vomiting, skin damage etc. That also explains why the symptoms subsided every time he drank blood.

Horror movie that seems to be related to demonic possession, the story unfolds in even darker and less conventional way. As a mixture of subgenres, between sects, sexual abuse and possessions, it ends up being fascinating thanks to the director's ability to create an unbreathable atmosphere. Some sequences feel implausible and the ending is not entirely convincing, but it is an outstanding terror/drama proposal.

I love how after she takes the boy from the hospital the cop is like, “everyone’s looking for you.” And she is literally standing in her house lol.
Can we talk about how the son makes no comment of how he is eating people? Lol
The ending solidified the stupidity of this movie.
