Had a teacher who posited Arnold Friend was Joyce Carol Oates allegory for Satan. That would make this less evil -- just to let you know a bit more of where I stand on it.
I don't know if there are films which are important to watch -- outside of the domain of entertainment. Are there films that challenge us, make us feel uncomfortable (very uncomfortable) which serve some higher purpose, or teach us in some way that news and history do not? I don't know.
