This reminds me a lot of David O. Russell's last film, The Fighter, which was also very plain and tedious, and you get no connection from the lead characters. You don't really care.
Half way through I thought about turning it off and finishing it an other time, but I managed to pull through the extra hour and it did get better luckily.
I don't understand all the hype surrounding Jennifer and Bradly in this movie. The best acting came from The Great Robert De Niro. I'm not saying they were bad or anything, but I just couldn't connect with them or believe them in any kind of way. I'm guessing this comes down to the awkward dialog and writing.
There were a few funny scenes, but all in all it was pretty boring and uneventful. It's a decent movie, but nothing to go crazy over which a lot of people are doing.
Good movie. Great story.
I was so intrigued throughout this whole movie, which is something that not all movies can offer to the viewer. Both the characters personalities are so interesting and throughout the whole movie I wanted to know more and more about them.
This movie is such a feel good film and I may be a bit biased based on my personal life but for the right target audience this movie is so absolutely inspiring. It’s truly romantic and truly explains several life concepts like, it’s not always going to be pretty and life can get ugly but if you work really hard to improve you life—you may find a silver lining.
I wish I could give it a Zero.
What a wonderfully absurd and loving film. Various psychoses are perfectly passed on to the viewer by the actors, who harmonize with each other in word and deed. It is a story about love. Told as serious and humorous as life itself.
I like the kind of film. I like how the actors act. I like the music. All in all, I like the uniqueness of this work.
Silver Lining's Playbook is an all-time favorite that I can really watch over and over again.
My favorite scene: The film offers countless scenes that manifest themselves in my head. But maybe the one in which Pat orders cereal from a "date" is one of the most memorable.
Really enjoyable flick, with some great performances. DeNiro and Lawrence really showed versatility in their unusual roles.
Though I struggled to suspend my disbelief with the casting of JLaw - few guys could ignore her beauty and physique, not least when they've harshly ditched by another woman who clearly has less than zero interest in a reunion.
Funny and dramatic movie at the same time. I was impressed with J. Lawrence's versatility.
Silver Linings Playbook was crazy good, huehuehue. Bradley Cooper was absolutely incredible in it, by far his best performance to date. I'm still not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence and she definitely didn't deserve an Oscar for this, but there were good supporting performances by everybody else. David O. Russell likes to focus more on characters rather than plot – which is fine – but in this case it meant the movie was predictable; I guess that's still better than the mess that was American Hustle however. Also gambling is bad, yo.
"Why did you order raisin bran?"
"Why did you order tea?"
"Because you ordered raisin bran."
"I ordered raisin bran because I didn't want there to be any mistaking it for a date."
"It can still be a date if you order raisin bran."
Fourth time watching it, I just LOVE this movie
It has got everything for a chill night, you laugh, you feel, the dark comedy and drama, highs and lows
The best scene "F***g stupid book"
The timing and rhythm Lawrence and Cooper have here is in step and on the beat… and the dance scenes are cute, too.
Silver Linings Playbook is a surprisingly entertaining and compelling character drama. The film follows a former high school teacher who, after spending time in a mental hospital, tries to reconcile with his estranged wife, and finds an unlikely ally to help him. The cast is quite impressive, and includes Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and Robert De Niro; who all delivery excellent performances. The storytelling’s also quite good, and does an exceptional job at drawing in the audience. Smartly made and well executed, Silver Linings Playbook is a charmingly and uplifting film...Excelsior!
I hate that reviews have to be 5 words. IT SUCKS is only 2
I suppose it's an important element to the movie, but how angry and loud it was turned me off and made it less enjoyable for me personally. So, honestly I'm somewhere between "meh" and "fair" at least. This movie certainly isn't a bad one.
What a great film. Thoroughly enjoyable and enough content to really get you thinking. You can see why Jennifer Lawrence growing to be a mega-star.

This Movie is Magnificent Very Underrated I was surprised how GREAT This Movie Was
De Niro, Copper and Lawrence Along with the Supporting Cast All Delivered An Elite Performance
I gave the Perfect 10.. Rarely Do Romance Receive Such High Praise From but it's totally deserving.
2/2 story
2/2 acting
2/2 pacing
2/2 dialogue
1/1 directing, technical aspect
1/1 living up to its genre
Jennifer Lawrence plays crazy so we'll and often I'm starting to wonder if she is even acting. That's that ish I like!
Sometimes life's f*** up for a reason in a future that we just can't see right now ;>
I can see why everybody is raving about this film. I am not a big Bradley Cooper fan, but Jennifer Lawrence was great! I didn't realize she could act. Im not saying run out and buy this, But with all the crap movies out there. This was an original thought. And I did enjoy the ride. Perfect for a married couples date night.
Very annoying
What a beautiful movie. It's simple, but touching and fun at the same time. Jennifer was absolutely amazing the all movie. Bradley show something different on this movie that envolve everyone that watch it.
Anyway, a beautiful movie that obviously enter on "my favorite movies" list.
The final bet scene it's great. All the actors involved in it are great.
I do recommend it!
And that's how you make a movie!
It was FUN, it was dramatic, it was ENGAGING and a lot more.
Every member of the cast did a great job, even the little ones - Jennifer absolutely deserved her golden globe for this!
She is so AMAZING ... and ... there is just something about her I can not define. The camera work was beautiful and the music underlined all the ongoing emotions perfectly.
What can I say... I LOVE THIS MOVIE.
It's about life & love, it's about being crazy and finding happiness, it's about the things that are truly important in life, except for this iPod thing ;D
PLUS it even has Robert de Niro in it - he finally returns to the good stuff :)
This shoots instantly to "My All time favorites"!
Nothing less then 10/10 for me - just wonderful, wunderful, wunderful.
To the producers and everyone involved:
Thank you for this piece of art, you definitly made an impact on a lot of hearts!
This movie cost me a lot but I still think that it's worthy!
Jennifer Lawrence is really the star of this movie. Bradley Cooper is good too, but Jennifer is WOW. The first time I saw this movie I gave it a 7. Now that I revisited it I give it an 8. It is enjoyable, funny and cute.
Loved it from the very first minute. So warm. My favourite love story.
7.6/10 Jennifer Lawerence just omg!
Definitely one of my all-time favorites! Amazing soundtrack and it was even better than the book
I love-LOOOOOVE this movie. It's just amazing.
OMG!!!
I like this movie
Very good movie. Totally recommend it!
Loved this movie, it was very well written, and the performance of the entire cast was just brilliant, especially bradley cooper.
Different type of romantic comedy that puts mental illness in a different light. Well-acted and directed.
This was a rewatch after only seeing it once 10+ years ago. Initially I was surprised I only gave it a 7, as I was really enjoying the opening act, but then it started to lose me a bit in the back half, with the final conflict feeling too manufactured and over the top. That said, the performances were still excellent and there was plenty of solid humor, so overall still a good time.
I felt so bad for Tiffany throughout the entire movie; she tried so hard to help and she was genuinely such a nice, fun and caring person, but then she didn’t really get any support back. I needed someone to give her a hug so bad
Second time watching this and I actually bumped up its rating a half star this time. Romantic films are not really my thing, but this is near top of its class. The film does its best to appeal to both males and females, is incredibly relatable, and generally a good time!
Rating: 4/5 - 85% - Would Recommend
quite interesting how this movie splits opinions a lot and I can't understand why people see that because it has so many little details that add up to such a corny plot that it's hard to it's actually easy to miss the details and the work but into saw everything together and that's the only reason I don't give it a 10 because the work was not perfect but it was very good people are very spied with very good movies and productions nowadays they have no idea how much work goes into this and how well done this is. actors, writing, directing and so many little details... there's a scene right early in the movie in which they're talking in a car and then because the scene should not take much time but it was important to present the side character they added a big truck behind just to hit a horn to make the scene shorter. this is work. and myself I'm going through a very similar story with my X so I can deeply connect with how real the story can be from beginning to end.
The two leads can be charming, which makes for some entertaining viewing... that is, until it becomes nothing but pure awkward, uncomfortable torture. Maybe if you're the type that likes "real life" tv specials you'll enjoy it. I regretted starting it.
It's fun with great acting from both leads.
Good movie.

Aka. 8.3 points
Cute... a confortable movie with an interesting plot and funny moments. :)
the ending felt cheap. "i loved you this whole time though" like no. he was clearly very invested in his ex wife still. it just feels like they were trying to make it all better by claiming all along he was gonna get to this good place n like in his hart he trooly nu he luved her. like i understand he could have LIKED her from the first meaning, even though he had trouble moving on. but that didn't even seem to be the case. and he claims he LOVED her? like no i don't think so.
Esse filme mudou a forma de como eu vejo as coisas.
Le top de la comédie romantique
While the solid writing and poignant acting make for an overachieving start, the plot couldn't help but be undermined by cliche.
Stunningly accurate look at the bipolar life.
You could totally see it coming. But it was a fun movie anyway... good job.
This one also came out of left-field. And it's really good, too. It's a story of how sometimes we need the madness of others to handle our own madness. The script is solid, if predictable, and the acting is really good. Yes, Bradley Cooper really can act, and act well. His Hemingway rant was priceless. There are a couple of scenes that pull you out of the movie because they would never happen in real life. But all-in-all it's a good solid movie that I can easily recommend. Can't say much more without spoiling it.
Funny, touching, brilliant!

The best romantic comedy in years. This movie is already a classic in its genre. Great performances from the entire cast and a great comeback for the Legendary Robert De Niro.
