Silver Bullet 1985

Really fun midnight movie. One of the better Stephen King movies, and a decent, but different kind of werewolf picture. It's made as entraining as it is by having such likeable actors.

“ Holy jumped-up baldheaded Jesus palomino!” Probably one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations. Loved the practical effects in this one also

Did not expect to like this one as much as I did. Probably the best King film I've seen yet, and certainly deserves a much higher placement as part of the '80s horror canon.

This movie is my childhood. I still get genuinely scary and super creeped out when I watch it.

Its not nearly as scary as I would like it to be but Silver Bullet has some entertaining characters thanks to Stephen King's writing and some good performances. That werewolf costume is not good though.

First… Gary Busey rules!

Second… This is the first time I'm watching this since it made its rounds on late night TV in the late 80s, and even though I remember it as much scarier than it really is, I had a very good time. Well worth the revisit!!!

Third… I still want a Silver Bullet, even though I don't need one.

Not awesome. The effects aren't great and the story is pretty predictable if you know anything about Stephen King. Still, Haim charms and Busey chews scenery, so it is not a total waste!

The werewolf horror film Silver Bullet is a frightening tale that’s held back a bit by a weak script. Based on a Stephen King novel, a young boy comes to believe that a werewolf is responsible for a series of brutal killings, and sets out to uncover the wolf’s identity. Despite the interesting premise, the writing is rather poor and has trouble keeping a consistent tone. And, the werewolf costume is atrocious (a guy in a suit level of bad). However, the cast is pretty good, and features Corey Haim, Everett McGill, and Gary Busey. A classic ‘80s horror film, Silver Bullet delivers some scares but doesn’t quite live up to its potential.
