She’s All That is a rather cute romantic comedy with a John Hughes-ish quality to it. After getting dumped by his girlfriend a high school jock makes a bet that he can turn a socially awkward art geek into the prom queen. Featuring Freddie Prinze Jr., Rachael Leigh Cook, Paul Walker, Matthew Lillard, and Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, the cast is quite impressive (even if some of their performances aren’t). Cook is especially charming and has tremendous screen presence. And the writing does a good job at keeping the comedy light and kind of clever. However, the plot’s pretty predictable and some of the humor is lowbrow. It has its flaws, but overall She’s All That is a fun and entertaining teen comedy.

This is an embarrassment - the story is cookie cutter, the teens are moronic and normalize behaviour we don't want in humanity, yet, I kept rooting for the key couple - I'm embarrassed to have fallen for the romance, despite it all. I rate the movie a 4 (poor) out of 10 but have to admit I liked the couple. [Moronic High School Romance]

+1 only for Fatboy Slim, Sixpence none the Richer and the Buffy cameo. ;)

I had seen this movie previously when I was much younger, and I honestly forgot most of it. However, I have seen "Not Another Teen Movie" countless times. I never realized how beat for beat that movie was spoofing this one. This is basically that, without the humor, and a bit more audience friendly. It is a classic for a reason, but certainly not my favorite.

Rating: 3/5 - 7.5/10 - Worth Watching

Has there ever been a romance movie where the supposed ugly girl was actually bad-looking?

Teens (particularly 90's/2000's fans) go crazy about this movie and... it's okay. I was expecting this to be Mean Girls/Clueless/13 Going on 30 levels of good but no, it wasn't. This movie isn't terrible by any means but you won't feel bad skipping it.

On the plus side, the soundtrack is great and there is a surprisingly wide array of celebrities in this movie (Freddie Prinze Jr., Rachel Leigh Cook, Gabrielle Union, Matthew Lillard, Paul Walker, Usher, Lil Kim, Sarah Michelle Gellar, this movie has it all!)
