The heartwarming romantic comedy, Serendipity is a fun and enchanting film. The story follows a couple that was separated after a fateful meeting one night in New York, but tries to reconnect years later by following their destinies. The cast is quite good, and includes John Cusack, Kate Beckinsale, Bridget Moynahan, and Jeremy Piven, who all deliver strong performances. However, Cusack and Beckinsale don’t have very good chemistry; which is partially the script’s fault as it does more telling than showing and keeps the couple apart for most of the film. But, the comedy is charming, and there’s a sincerity to the film that helps to overcome some of its weaknesses. Though it has a few issues, Serendipity is delightfully whimsical with an uplifting love story.
Rewatch because I'm in nostalgia mode and I've been watching all romantic with our without comedies of the 2000s.
Beckinsale at her most beautiful to be honest. Movie is nice to watch, especially if you like the romantic commedies of that period. Nowadays, they feel different without emotion and very sterile. The most annoying issue about this movie is the basic cause for it to exist, that is what Kate does believing in fate. no no no no. :) .
Not sure why Cusack became so famous in that period. A nice timid actor but nothing spectacular. Beckinsale was for sure pushed as a super pretty british actress along with Knightley in the same period.
Moving. Felt sad for Jon’s fiancé. Great acting. Fatum.
That's wayyy too much for me but overall it's an ok film with some good perfomances and not a waste of time. 6.3/10!
P.S Kate is beautifull and underrated actress!

I remember really liking this movie. What is there not to like? Two adorable people falling in love and hunting for each other. I have always been warm towards Kate Beckinsale. Now that I am older, I realize that they are doing this while engaged to other people. Not sure how I feel about that haha. Still a cute movie though.
