The only thing stopping you from being you; is you!
An interesting twist on a love story. A great cast. An improbable scenario with a predictable ending common to the genre. Good light viewing. I give this film a 7 (good) out of 10. [Dramedy]
Not a romance, not quite a comedy, but surprisingly wonderful and heartwarming nonetheless.
Wow. Unexpectedly, this movie turns out to have one of the biggest twists in 2019 so far. The way this was marketed, I was expecting the kind of traditional comedy we haven't really seen a lot of since the 90's. While there is some of that influence, a significant portion of the movie is straight up drama, with long stretches devoid of any meaningful sense of comedy.
Still - my mismatched expectations aside - the movie mostly worked. I enjoyed the comedic aspects, and actually did end up feeling somewhat investment in the dramatic aspects. Seven out of ten feels exactly right for this movie - it was pretty good. Nothing more, nothing less.
I couldn’t get past the first 5 minutes. Poorly cast.
The kind of contrived movie that stalled Lopez's career in the first place. It's not awful, but it as predictable as you can imagine. Thankfully, Lopez has recently entered her own second act with the acclaimed film Hustlers.
One more adaptation of Cinderella.
Meh. It wasn't bad but it wasn't exciting either..
This movie was just ok. The story line was a little unbelievable and it wrapped up a little too nicely for reality. The final message that we get up every morning with the ability to change ou lives is a little one sided for most people. I gave it. 6 because I did the like Maya’s friends and Milo Ventimiglia. An ok watch if your looking for something light that ends happy and your not going to over analyze it.
