Scrooge: A Christmas Carol 2022

Beautiful animation, great catchy Christmas songs, engaging story and visuals, nice voice acting and a heartfelt journey. It's just nothing new or original we haven't seen before in the Christmas Carol universe. Perfect little movie to throw on while making the Christmas tree :christmas_tree:

The animations were odd: they reminded me of those ads from Facebook games that have nothing to do with the game itself.
Songs were forgettable and they yassified old Scrooge. All the ghosts were terrible too.
It was a miss for me.

Mostly for people too young to know it steals a lot of the songs from the Albert Finney Scrooge movie.

A fair adaptation and one parents and children could likely watch together easy enough. The Animation seemed a little sloppy in places and then very visually captivating in others. The voice work was solid from everyone but the songs... a little lifeless. The only good ones (In my opinion of course) were the love songs from Scrooge's past.

Worth a watch with your nippers! If you're expecting another excellent rendition then this one probably isn't for you.

An animated adaptation of the 1970 musical, Scrooge: A Christmas Carol is an entertaining and fun family film. Based on the Charles Dickens novella, a crotchety old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three spirits who attempt to show him the error of his ways. Luke Evans, Jonathan Pryce, and Olivia Colman lead the cast and give solid performances. And the animation is quite imaginative and colorful; though at times some of the characters look a little clayish. Also, the musical numbers have been paired down from the ’70 version to just a handful of the core songs (“Happiness,” “Thank You Very Much,” “I Like Life,” etc.), but the ones they do they do in spectacular fashion. Scrooge: A Christmas Carol is a whimsical film that delivers a unique vision of this immortal tale.

Don't really understand the bad rating and the complains for being the same old story.
I loved it very much even though it was more simpler, I loved the song sang by Isabel and Scrooge, Later never Comes. And it's my dream listening Luke Evans singing once again.
I give it a 8.

I agree with those who say it isn’t believable in the adaptations where Scrooge has a dog. I believe he had one in 90’s animated film as well. Nice Scrooge getting a dog in the end is more believable than mean, self-centered and lazy Scrooge. Having a dog.
This Scrooge comes off too healthy and not elderly at all. Still, you can say I love the story and always on the look out for a new adaptation.
The new Netflix movie doesn’t rank too high for me but it is better than a of of animated versions. Just not Mickey’s Christmas Carol or Disney’s a Christmas Carol.
