Scrambled 2024

Like opening a window in premium economy, this was an unexpected blast of fresh air.

With zero promotion other than the title and the film poster (neither of which grabbed me, if I'm being honest) I really only saw Scrambled because it was a new movie and I could see with my pass and it looked at least a little better than The Book of Clarence.

Imagine my surprise when I caught myself laughing out loud during the very first scene. Even better, I never stopped laughing...until I got so choked up a tear out two leaked out from the corner of my eyes.

You know me, I'm always criticizing movies about quirky young women who basically are just looking for the right man to settle for. What I love about Scrambled is that it eschewed these tropes and that I, as a cis white boomer, could identify with this character and become emotionally attached to her journey.

A wonderful cinematic experience.

Fun movie with lots of emotional moments. Comedic setups are quite good and flashbacks are skillfully avoided.
