Saw this in the theater not knowing what to expect. All i knew going in was that it was 5 short films by 5 directors that somehow tied in together.
Halfway through I thought to myself “so this is what would happen if Robert Rodriguez directed episodes of tales from the crypt!”
The mainly Spanish shorts were probably the “scariest” of the bunch but generally they leaned more comedic than scary. Jacob Vargas gave a fantastic comedic monologue that reminded me of his Next Friday performance. The only way this could have been more enjoyable is if I had been stoned. It was silly fun.
