Sand Castle 2017

It has fascinated me. I do not understand why so many people did not like it, it is a film of a singular and reasonable story which not only presents the drama and action of the war from a personal perspective and without presenting the typical excessive emphasis on the drama and horror of the war that has been projected since Band of Brothers but also presents the mundane and civil in reference to the diversity of tasks that are submitted to the combat corps given the situation of politics, human-civil and territorial condition on the battlefield, I understand that manages to subtly involve the sense of realism balancing all aspects of war operations without much drama or action but in a more practical and objective way without and all that also without excluding a very good amount of the accion and drama that characterize a good war movie.

Meh, It's watchable, action wasn't bad, and the story plot wasn't anything great.

This was a total piece of garbage. Netflix should be ashamed to put their name on this.

Excellent film about the war in Iraq from a personal perspective

While this movie has great production value, good talent and the plot synopsis promisee great potential, the movie is overall underwhelming and did not make an impact on me. I'm a huge fan on war films genre, but this one is quite forgettable unfortunately.

Based on true events, Sand Castle is a remarkably compelling war film. A group of cavalier U.S. Army soldiers are sent to a small Iraqi village to help repair the water plant and become hardened as they’re attacked by insurgents and start to suffer casualties. Starring Nicholas Hoult, Logan Marshall-Green, and Henry Cavill, the film has a pretty solid cast that deliver strong performances. And it does a good job at showing a variety of soldier’s experiences; from urban warfare, to occupying palaces, to trekking deserts. Additionally, director Fernando Coimbra heightens the tension and suspense especially well. Sand Castle is a powerful film about the struggles soldiers face, both in the field and in themselves.

For those who want lots of action in a war movie, this movie is not for you. I really liked the movie, you get some parts with action, especially at the last 30 minutes with some drama... Its not just war, that was why i liked a lot the movie because you get to see the diversity of tasks that are submitted to the combat corps given the situation in the battlefield, where you will get to see the brotherhood between them, that's beautiful to see. Its a solid and amazing film, i recommend it! My rating is 8/10!

A bit slow for those who want lots of action in a war movie. With that lead cast, the individual's experience in war could have been displayed better.

Worst piece of trash I’ve seen all year. Terrible, in every way imaginable. Every single character is an unlikable asshole. I can’t believe this incredibly biased shit was made.

Not as gung-ho as some war movies - which is a good thing - but not always terribly interesting, either. It's not a bad film by any means, but it struggles to lift its head from the sand to say anything new. Watchable but forgettable.
