I think this is quite a clever film. It doesn't take itself seriously (which is obvious from the outset) and there are a lot of nice homages to other film of a smilar genre and some of the editing techniques and little touches here are there are comic gold.
The acting is reasonable for a film of this calibre and my only complaint would be that they ignore some of the previous "scentific" rules they set down a couple of acts previously.
When the two girls are fighting on the boat and the scary music stops each time she blows the lighter out to stop the dynamite being lit had me in stitches
