talk about a waste of life. won't be watching again. would of Gabve 1 star but it was filmed in color. no storyline.
This was not the typical 'woman in peril' thriller that I expected. It's something much darker and less exploitative with some interesting (but occasionally heavy-handed) things to say about toxic masculinity and the degradation of women. Stylishly made and well acted, this is a movie that might take you by surprise - avoid spoilers!!
Woman has a terrible night after her period starts
I don't care what anyone says. This movie took me by surprise. I never saw that coming.
So far, I am not understanding the good reviews, I'm 37 minutes in, and it's on strike 2, "what did you say, he only knows how to make one drink, and hates dogs.. I know about that guy".. From a friend who is now dead, but told me about the drink and the dog thing. What a coincidence.. And I know exactly what you need to do.
1 hour in... Is it stolen Valor.. Or is it Fabulous
Yuuuccch
That was the dumbest men are bad movie I have ever seen
A surprisingly great cat-and-mouse thriller which puts a fun and different spin on the sub-genre. This film had a huge delay to its release date which usually means that it's dogshit, so I totally wasn't expecting such a fun experience. Although I'm not a fan of the cringy music choices and the first thirty minutes was so unpleasant, it kind of tricks you into thinking that this is just another bland, super on-the-nose 'men bad' film. I mean it still is, but it's an entertaining one. Story-wise, it's pretty straightforward, plays out exactly what you'd expect, but the journey is silly, bloody, and violent, at least for Blumhouse standard, with a bit of unexpected twist. Solid performance from the lead. Overall, it's worth the wait.
This was a waste of time. And the word "run" popping up on screen here and there made it worse.:wastebasket:
twisted? sure. far fetched? not really.
overdone yet interesting concept that manages to find something fresh to say anyway. there’s a shaky first half riddled with heavy handedness but the second half was a little more nuanced and cohesive. the lead actress sells it and all in all, i enjoyed it. 4/5
In the very beginning, woman say I was attacked and they arrest her for public intoxication?:expressionless:the writing started off bad but then to watch this movie for 1 hour and 20 minutes with 20 minutes to go just to find out this was a women empowerment movie? Wow Adam came from Eve rib? Please skip it if you can but if you want to see the same old song and dance movie then enjoy.
It has an interesting premise and has important themes to deal with. However, both the unfolding of the story and its themes are very superficial or poorly worked.
In general, it does not add to the theme, much less as entertainment, since the development is weak.
Ok, that was a weird movie. My mind was constantly switching from WTF to WTF. Everything felt so unbelievable stupid that I could not really connect. Starting with the guy and the question if really anyone would believe anything he said? But then, I guess, there are plenty of people who would fall for this. Maybe that was the point. In the end I was watching it and never got bored, this is something I guess. But the ending was really cheap and did not feel like a good payoff. Not bad, but could have been better.
Is it heavy-handed in the handling of its theme? Yes. Are there one too many generic statements about the patriarchy? Definitely. But I almost always appreciate films with a feminist slant. It doesn't matter if they succeed or not, I still appreciate the effort. The violence here made me feel especially disgusted and uncomfortable, which is surprising given the amount of horror movies I watch, but I think what affected me the most was the nature of and intent behind that violence. Speaking of, I really like that they sometimes purposely divert the camera whenever something is done to the protagonist. Quite a few films seem to almost relish the act of violence happening. Not having to witness some of it here was a welcome break.
7.5/10
Well this was a crazy mad ride, i am a die hard
BlumHouse fan and watch anything
and everything with their stamp on. I have been waiting to see this for a very long time, and with it being super delayed I was starting to loose interest,
Especially after
The terrible piss-poor
Halloween Ends
Which is the worst movie of 2022 and the past decade, then we have
The woke
Black Christmas Which is the worst movie ever made
Just Man hating all the way through.
So I'm so sceptical when a new BH movie gets released because of the woke sjw agenda and 30 minutes into this I was sure this was going that way. I was just about to
tap out then she comes running out ..BOOM
I actually thought I'd nodded off and mist a section because it was so left field but no it just got more bizarre and outrageous and my anxiety
Levels were through the roof for our
protagonist and before I really knew it
I found myself really enjoying it.
Not seen anything quite like this,
it tricked me so many times/ways
and yes the man bad
woman superior bashing was their
all the way back
To
Adam and Eve
But somehow this movie managed to keep
me engaged
and it was very very entertaining,
and somehow it
all just worked and seem to come together.
Breaking
the Forth Wall
The bloody tampons
The John Wick Dog,
All the first lady stuff
It was all mad as fcuk
and it was like I'd dropped a bad
acid but I sure
as Hella enjoyed the
Mad Trip from it and I would definitely drop
one again because that was a lot of fun
With some great performances.
My professional Verdict: Bonkers.
(can't wait for another watch
Xmas Birthday).
Had some good aspects (mostly the acting) but oof this was a heavy-handed mess.
This movie was extremely frustrating. First thing, right off the bat -- this wasn't a date. It was a work dinner "double booked" for her boss, and she went instead. That was a contrived situation, of course, but this was never a blind date it was a work event. The main character constantly referring to it as a date was very confusing and her inability to explain her situation to characters she runs into later was enough to make me watch something else. Also her ex, hearing what she's been through, leaves her alone on the porch to convince his new girlfriend to let her in. What??? Everyone in this movie acted unrealistically, except the killer and the boss's wife.
Basic rule: never mess with a girl on her period.
Mental note: angels die vampires if they are male

Felt like a film that didn't know what it wanted to be...
The acting was great, but the story was all over the place. I felt like I was being scolded through the whole movie. The movie took a pretty weird turn when it veered off to the First Lady part of it.
Basically a not so suddle movie about the patriarchal society we live in and the toxic masculinity that steers the ship...it's watchable, but I found myself "eyerolling" a lot through it.
It started off as a promising horror movie, but ended up being a 1 hr 43 minutes long social justice lecture.
I was disappointed
