When they did this movie they knew that the storyline cannot be taken seriously. And so they didn't even try. The movie is full of gags, absurds and comical sentences apparently out of context.
And that is what makes this movie funny, not being an "action", "horror" film, but more a comedy with a sci-fi touch.
