Based on the play "Trade" by Mark O'Halloran, also a screenwriter, the story is magnificently constructed, the dialogues are concise and accurate, the profile of this man who reaches maturity in a state of moral and emotional disintegration is shown with precision. It is also a representation of the pain of a man who sees how he is becoming the father he hated. His infatuation or sentimental whim for the young hustler is presented more as a form of liberation, of breaking the established rules, of fleeing from his own reality built on lies and false desires. The ending can seem frustrating, and it is; but it is also related to the impossibility of going back.

Its a good film although more could have been done to flesh out the story. Sure to be relatable to many guys, however.
