Matthias Schweighöfer steals the whole movie, his smooth performance as Klaus Barbie contrasts a lot with the rest of... not so interesting things going on. Without him I would have given this a much lower rate.
When you find yourself hoping for more scenes of the sadist Nazi and completely uninterested by the guy who's supposed to be the protagonist, you know the point of the film is kinda lost.
Efficient rather than excellent account of a true story. There are some good moments here, but only a handful of moments truly stand out.
A film about Marcel Marceau that forgets Marcel Marceau. The director seems more interested in constructing a typical portrait of the cruel Nazi (represented by Klaus Barbie), than in showing the personality of the protagonist who does not have a good model in Jesse Eisenberg either. The film wants to be a blockbuster more than a look at the tragedy of children in war.

This was a well intentioned movie based on real events which was executed rather poorly. Jesse Eisenberg plays Marcel Marceau
who was a nazi-fighting mime and a hero. I would recommend reading his incredible story rather than watching this. The director has chosen the most bland way to tell the story. I must admit the filming of this movie was great but the rest of it not so much.
