Best Resident Evil
When you're still ripping off The Matrix 10 years after The Matrix then you know you're a bad movie.
Firstly...
An army of über sexy Milla ninjas?
Probably one of the greatest moments in movie history.
The fourth installment in the series brings the comeback of Paul W. S. Anderson, and that is a good thing in my book. There's something about his way of creating suspense I really like.
Both the story and acting are actually quite decent, and the action is still of the "gritty:" and "real" kind. As far as a zombie apocalypse movie can be any sort of real of course.
I really like this one! Especially since it doesn't try to be grand or epic. Just plain old gritty action.
...and yes...the dogs are even creepier.
At the start of this movie there were so many Milla Jovovich’s, and so little time.
This one also features Wentworth Miller, in a prison break style situation.
I’m going to give all 6 movies of this series a solid 8. Because over the years, I’ve watched each of these more than once, and was dealt with a great entertainment experience. The movies also maintain good continuity of characters and the main story arc, which is very rare in long running franchises.
I don’t know whether non-gamers will enjoy this series as much though. Because the action sequences will look a bit repetitive if you’re unfamiliar with the video game and its level progression.
Latitude and Longitude are reverserd. Bad error.
It goes a little off the rails but it's still a fun watch
This probably rates as one of my favorites in the franchise, so far. It seems a bit weird, however, to see the "giant zombie" creature from Silent Hill but…I don't know. I'm assuming this is something they did intentionally? But again, I'm watching these as strictly a "film afficionado", and I've never played the video game so I have no idea how this measures up to the actual game…or whether there's a correlation between the Resident Evil and Silent Hill video games. As far as an action/horror/sci-fi movie, though, this was actually not a bad film. Granted, it took on (IMO) far too many similarities of The Matrix franchise (an unmatchable series, IMO) and became pretty ridiculous at some points. The "evolution" of the creatures was pretty wicked and made for a more interesting movie than just your average shuffling undead creatures. I'm not naive: there were a number of things about this particular film that just weren't very good but compared to the "inaction" and plodding storylines of the other films (so far), this was intriguing. To me.
But I've never played the game, so I have no idea how this stacks up against the rest of the franchise when it comes to that particular aspect of the film. As far as a movie goes, however, I would definitely give this a recommendation because it's just a decent action/sci-fi movie with some weird villains tossed in there.
This might as well been called Resident Evil: Slow Motion. I’m watching these for the first time and this one is without a doubt the worse one so far (to me) And certainly a step down from Extinction
8.5/10
This is definitely the best one yet, this was frickin awesome and to bring the elements in from
resident evil 4,5 game to match the movie entry was genius. I love how they've gone the matrix route at the beginning, it's a proven formula and anyone saying it's outdated Matrix 4 has just been released in 2022 so that argument holds no water, like I said proven formula and I love all that
Slow Mo Bullet Time stuff especially in an hi octane movies like
Resident Evil.
Wesker is Awesome as ever and even though Alice has had her superpowers taken away she's still the most Awesome person in these movies and everything she does is just so fcuking cool and epic.
Milla is the resident evil
Franchise and this is the coolest and exciting entry yet.
Next please
LET'S GO
This movie is really bad.
Best Resident Evil yet... Reminds me of the Romero film where the people are trapped in a mall.
Resident Evil: Afterlife attempts to take the series back to basics and delivers a campy action film that has fun with the material. In this chapter Alice searches for Claire and her group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse, which were headed for Alaska looking for the infection free zone Arcadia. Wentworth Miller joins the series and gives a strong performance, and the over-the-top action scenes are quite impressive, and bring a lot of energy to the film. However, things start to fall apart in the last act as the story goes off in some bizarre directions. Yet for a cheesy horror film, Resident Evil: Afterlife is pretty entertaining.
Nice visual but feels cheap
Alsolute garbage! Made for 3d so pointless, continuous slow motion scenes. Terrible writing and questionable casting.
The action is decent but the plot is very silly at this point.
I love the opening scene ❤ ❤
Just a fun action-horror flick! Don't expect more ;)
Well, at last I laughed a lot...
wow! that's a terrible movie! one or the worst I ever seen!
An utterly terrible movie and one of the weakest films I have ever seen.
Somewhere between RE1 and RE3 in my ranking, this forth Resident Evil flick is an enjoyable action / horror flick.

Action is still good but the plot is becoming weird and (at least for a non-player like myself) illogical. It seems that a lot of things are simply done for the sake of doing them. Why the mutations ? Where does that big dude come from ? I´m not expecting deep storys here, I was OK with the first three movies. But at least some logic would be nice.
And as far as CGI goes - the first movies were much better as they did a lot more practical whereas here it´s almost all green screen. And it´s showing again that practical effects are better at standing the test of time.
