I did enjoy it! The chemistry between the actors was great! The movie all in a lot of fun. Also some unexpected changes.
You see the cast and you know what is coming. It is another simple plot movie but also an entertaining one. 7.5/10
Good performances with an okay story make for a good action movie
I dont understand all the hate towards this movie, it was fun. Yes its quite a lot of b.s. but in a fun way. Loved the many references to other movies/series and even to real persons here and there and at least 2 cameos. Ed Sheeran with his "I was in game of thrones", Reynolds in his India Jones outfit whistling the tune and referring MacGuffin, nazi crate with the super secret text on it, etc etc. Sure, very predictable here and there, but all in all I really enjoyed it for what it was: an action comedy.
Has all the ingredients of something fun & enjoyable, but somehow came out utterly bland & overcooked.
Could've been better at sub-90 mins.

The cast has good chemistry and does a great job. Ryan Reynolds basically plays his funny and saracastic Deadpool/talkshow persona, which I personally really enjoy.

The funniest thing about it is the performance by Chris Diamantopoulous (the “this guy fucks” dude from Silicon Valley), whose acting kept reminding me of Eddie Redmayne in Jupiter Ascending.

You might not believe this, but these are the words from a fan of Reynolds and Johnson:
It did not make sense to me that Ryan Reynolds, a master arts thief, has the persona of Deadpool even here. Not to mention his acting is getting repetitive.
Also, the script doesn't make sense.
And the movie couldn't decide whether it was trying to be funny or thrilling.
Largely a "meh, whatever" experience.
The usual performances from each of the cast, the obligatory scenes, the 100-words-a-minute Reynolds shtick.
It's okay. It's just largely predictable - and looks like it was mostly shot on sets and the background CG'd into place, which makes it look a little 'cheap'.
They've set it up for a sequel but let's be honest, this isn't Ocean's Eleven by any stretch. It's not even Knight and Day.

It's not bad but feels stale. This heist-style movie has been done so many times before. Thinking about it, just two weeks ago, still on Netflix, with Army of thieves. It's just forgettable.
Also, I'm starting to wonder if, when they sew Ryan Reynolds mouth shut in X-men, if they did not stumble on a very good idea. I just wanted him to finally shut up, the whole movie. I know that Deadpool was popular, but does he have to be the same character in every movie? Was fun for a while, but now it's getting old really quickly.

Imagine paying millions to three of the biggest stars in movies nowadays to make one of the most mediocre movies I have ever seen. There isn't even any acting in this movie, just actors playing themselves. Poor script and dialog.
[Netflix] Mix of genres and references that however is less enjoyable and charming than intended, too artificial and impersonal. The best thing is its ability to not take itself seriously, and Ryan Reynolds' comic talent, even if it's repeating other characters' tics. The worst thing is the director's determination to play against his own script, boycotting the unpredictability of the turning points.
I can see a great potential in this but sadly it wasn't in this movie. I miss adventures movies like this one, with some sort of treasure hunt in modern times, but the movie is to flat.. nothig is a real threat, everything is a joke and my god... someone has to tell Ryan Reynolds that he isn't shooting Deadpool anymore, he can change his acting to something besides goofy.

Everything wrong with the state of Hollywood today captured in 116 mins. It's hard to believe it's real. “Capitalism breeds innovation” yeah, right. Hailed as the most expensive movie Netflix has ever made with a $200 million price tag. Clearly this is some form of money laundering for Netflix because I have never seen a film cost so much but look so aggressively cheap.
I think the biggest thing Hollywood is noticing is they can get away with bad movies, and make a good income at the same time, if you put popular, pretty faces in it. Red Notice is basically watching the three lead actors playing their typecast selves in every movie they're in. Gal Gadot, The Rock, and Ryan Reynolds are such limited actors, the Holy Trinity of bland and uninteresting. There is zero chemistry between all 3 of them.
I hate the whole “it’s not supposed to be high art, just turn off your brain, it’s a popcorn movie” argument people say to excuse a shitty movie. I didn’t expect an Oscar-worthy film. However, even if you are making a dumb movie, you should still put some effort into it. Because Red Notice looks like a fake movie that would appear in another movie as a joke that doesn’t quite land about how bad movies have gotten. It seems like a 12 year old kid born into nepotism that finds the most unfunny things funny wrote this. It's so bad that calling it even mediocre would be an insult to the movies that are actually mediocre.
Just when I think I have seen the worst thing Netflix could produce, they go and surprise me once again. The two things that are missing in this product Netflix's lazy, formulaic strategy is an LGBT+ character and a person of color.

As the world's largest streaming service, Netflix probably has a few extra funds to spend on assembling a star-studded cast for their latest film, Red Notice, which features Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot. At first glance, the premise and cast seemed promising but ultimately the movie falls short of expectations. The three lead actors are the saving grace of the film, bringing their charm and charisma to an otherwise average film. The chemistry between Johnson's burly cop and Reynolds' art thief is effective and Gadot is competent as the female lead, but the writing is often inconsistent and filled with throwaway jokes. The film also suffers from a lack of budget, and the action sequences are not able to make up for the film's shortcomings. Although Red Notice isn't the success Netflix was hoping for, it is not entirely awful and is saved by the lead trio's performances.

6.5/10 - It wasn't bad but I didn't really like it either. It had it's moments but overall it failed to get me invested enough into the story. I also didn't really like the ending... It was an unexpected twist but kinda annoying and very questionable (but it also explained a few things). But I was already wondering how this would end and none of the options I could come up with are really satisfying. It was a cool idea, had some funny moments (but overall I found it a bit to silly), some good action moments, and some surprises but the overall story just didn't feel good enough (I'm not quite sure why but it just wasn't enough for me).
This odd couple buddy movie delivers. It's so fast-paced and self-effacing that it gets away with a lot that shouldn't work. Above all, the film rests on the charm of its three leads and their chemistry. Gal Gadot absolutely steals the show. With other actors, this may have been a cheesy failure. Instead, the movie reminds me of Hot Shots. Every action cliche is covered in a self-aware manner while also delivering stupidly macho explosions, stunts, and fight scenes. I didn't expect to like it or be so engaged. I'm a middle-aged intellectual woman - hardly the target audience! I would recommend and watch again.
Hilarious and action-packed. This is NOT an "Action/Adventure" movie, so toss that idea out, and enjoy this as a great comedy/action movie. The chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds is great and the dialogue non-stop. (That seems to be the case in most Ryan Reynolds movies.) No spoilers here, but I would definitely recommend watching this one. Would love to see them come out with a sequel, it was that enjoyable. :sunglasses:

It’s a fun ride, but not surprising in the least. Everyone does exactly what you expect of them. It didn’t bother me, because that’s almost always the case with these actors. I was expecting a light action comedy and I got just that. This was never gonna win Oscars and it doesn’t have to. Don’t think too much about it and it’s fine.
I can see the executives talking:
we are gonna make a movie with the most carismatic actors out there, make a fun adventure, with plot twists, and treasure hunt... and and with a jungle... and.. Nazis!

Like a computer generated fairy tale, Red Notice is predictable, poorly structured and so tame that not even the kids will get into it.
This movie would be more interesting, exciting, and bloody if Red Notice referred to marking the calendar when her period starts.

What do you get when you cross a $200 million budget and 3 major Hollywood actors? This giant turd. Pretty much everything sucks about this. Predictable garbage movie where 90% of the budget went to the 3 main actors so the script and everything else took a major hit. Watch Indiana Jones instead.

This movie is entertaining but I can't quite shake the feeling that this is just a culmination of Netflix analytics. It includes so many different genres - all incredibly well liked - and overall so many things like being selfaware and selfreferencing, having a twist or two at the end and more.
This on the one hand leaves kind of a bitter aftertaste, on the other hand the movie dances on so many parties that it only ever scratches the surface.
The chase at the very beginning and camera overall are awesome however.
This movie is like Bollywood's Abbas Mastan movies with a big production value and perfect Corporate Cast. Lol. Crrringe.

Great action sequences ruined by too many twists. If you've seen the heist episode from Rick & Morty, this will hit you particularly hard. It's just completely crazy and that's why the second half of the movie loses steam it builds in the first half. Ryan Reynolds does very well playing Ryan Reynolds. Rock does very well playing the Rock. Gal Gadot, as we all know, has no discernible talents.
While this movie can be fun at times, it also is aggravatingly mediocre, bordering on bad. The writing is lazy for the most part (there are a couple clever plot twists, to be fair), and it's a fairly paint-by-the-numbers film. Everybody's dad sucks, making everyone's backstories boring because they're basically the same. Much of the first half of the film is spent making fun of Dwayne Johnson for being big. And while the writing is bad (with some severely misandrist unxertones), the story is boring and the whole film feels lazy, but the worst sin this film commits is making it nearly impossible to like or respect the main characters. The FBI agent is embarrassingly incompetent. The thief is annoying and kind of a jerk. The main villain is the most likeable character, which doesn't really work when the movie is trying to make us root against her.
This movie is watchable, to some extent, yes, but unfortunately, that's the highest praise I can give this film.

The good news: the first ten minutes and the last ten minutes aren't too bad. The bad news: the rest of the film is really mediocre. So what is wrong with the film? It's hard to say. After all, it follows the template created by so many films before it: attractive people filmed in exotic locations, historical mystery, buddy comedy, road trip, snarky dialog. I think the major problem is that there really isn't much chemistry between Johnson and Reynolds. If a buddy comedy is done well the viewer finds himself wanting to hang out with the buddies. I think the second problem is Gadot. Sure, she is lovely to look at and I think she has worked really hard on her acting. She doesn't embarrass herself.... she just has zero charisma on screen. She isn't sexy, alluring, or prominent in any way. It is if she is nothing more than an ornament in the film.

Starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, the film has a solid cast that delivers strong performances. Johnson and Reynolds have good comedic chemistry and handle both the comedy and the action especially well. Additionally, the fight and chase scenes are dynamic and exciting. Red Notice is an entertaining adventure that’s full of laughs.
It's very entertaining, specially if you are an Indiana Jones movies fan.
Reynolds is as likable as ever here, but his shtick just doesn't change at all from movie to movie. At this point, he's not even really playing a new character here; he's just playing himself pretending to play that character, and the novelty is definitely wearing off for me. As for the main crew of three here as a whole, they do solid work and have a good rapport, but the script is as derivative as can be and the tropes are constantly flying. All in all, it's enjoyable, but not remotely memorable. It's more than just a cash grab, but not by much.
Red Notice is a run of the mill spy adventure with twists, turns, and an inflated runtime that leaves the movie feeling bloated. I was having a decent time in the start of the movie, I enjoyed the back and forth between Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, the set pieces were great, and the plot was somewhat interesting. But after awhile, the movie got stale as the same style jokes were recycled and the plot kept being strung along. All the acting was fine in the film, but by this point Dwayne Johnson plays Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds plays Ryan Reynolds. There is no diversity in their acting, every role they take on is the exact same. In the beginning it was fine, but too much of a good thing is not enough. I found myself getting increasingly bored throughout the duration of the film, and the ending was a grind to get through. The twists at the end were interesting, although if I was remotely engaged in the plot I could have spotted it from a mile away. Overall, this film was below average cinema, even after the spending $60m plus on star power.

This is exactly what you'd think it would be...a fun ride. Mostly sticks to the script, but it has some nice twists and turns. I think it really would have benefited from an R rating, but I guess they were looking for a bigger audience. The ending left me feeling like it wasn't quite right, but it might be just me. This movie is one of those ridiculously silly but quite fun movies. It is a movie that makes no pretense other than to be entertaining.
The movie is a mixture of art heist thriller, Indiana Jones inspired treasure hunts and fast and furious chase action. All served with a large dose of humor.
I have to confess one thing right away. Ryan Reynolds grated on me. I guess he was chosen to provide most of the comic relief and, to me, he is over the top silly not to mention dishonest (most of the time) in a way that was not really my cup of tea.
Luckily Dwayne Johnson largely compensated for that. I have not yet seen a movie with Dwayne Johnson in that I felt was really bad. Also, sorry to all the Gal Gadot haters out there, I did like her in this movie but then, as guy, maybe I am a wee bit biased on that, you know what I mean.
The story is bordering on the ludicrous with, mostly predictable, twists around every corner but then it is just there to tie the action sequences and jokes together so it is good enough.
This is a movie that you watch for the silly action, even sillier jokes and, for me at least, because Dwayne Johnson is in it. It has a single purpose and that is to entertain. No bullshit preaching, no finger pointing and no pretense to provide food for your brain.
I liked it. It allowed me to spend two hours together with my oldest son just being entertained.
Oh, one more proof that it is a movie worthwhile to watch is of course the woke crappy tomatoes score. Note the discrepancy between their far left woke “critics” and the actual audience. Even that bullshit of separating the audience in “verified” and others couldn’t hide the fact that their “critics” are totally out of sync with the audience.

It's got Deadpool, Wonder Woman and The Rock in it (I appreciate that these are characters themselves from different movies or TV shows, It just so happens that they appear in this aswel. IMO). Honestly, just jolly good fun for nearly two hours. This role really suited Gal Gadot too, the other two you get what you expect from, which isn't a bad thing in an action-comedy.
And props for the twist, didn't see it coming. That's a rarity in this day and age for me.

It's alright. But there's literally an episode of Rick & Morty based around pitching a heist movie idea to Netflix. This is that movie. This has all the tropes they're making fun of.
The Rock is The Rock, Ryan Reynolds is DeadPool (which I enjoyed) and Gal Gadot is a model trying and failing to be a decent actor. No one but Reynolds is remotely believable (sort of) in the role they're playing and all the action is unnecessarily way over the top (like the recent Black Widow film) but overall I don't regret watching it. Got a few laughs out of it. On par with a Netflix quality movie.

It’s certainly not a great movie as, despite the double crosses, it is exactly as you would expect given the actors in the leads. However, it is reasonably enjoyable all the same, even when it threatens to derail itself with one cringey cameo.
Decent film. Had a couple nice twists and the cast is great. Loved seeing Gal Gadot as a villain! It's somewhat predictable as it follows a general formula for this type of film, but all in all it's well written and done well.
Minor plot hole: They are in Rome, then 56 hours later in Bali then 36 hours later in Rome for The Rock's character to be getting on another flight home 'in an hour' when she catches up to him. How does that make sense? Why go back to Rome after Bali for that short amount of time to just go back home? Why not go straight home the normal way from Bali? This absolutely didn't make sense and it wasn't explained. It bothered me a bunch because flight hopping like that is not easily done. And not just about the timing, but also the sense of going back to a place very far out of the way of 'going home' for such a short amount of time. Rant over.
Yes this move looks worse and shot mostly in front of the green screen, but this shit is still way more entertaining than No Time to Die. Reynolds and The Rock have more chemistry than Bond and Madeline.
