If you want some nililistic entertainment with some of the usual social messages.
I put this on while I was doing other things around the house, not expecting much, and wow! Beyond expectations. Sat and watched the whole movie and immediately followed it up with the sequel!
It seems a lot of people didn't have the stomach for this: they found it too violent, too senseless, filled with gratuitous violence (by the way, they're all correct in their assessments) but personally speaking, I found this to be an absolutely terrific film. It had a message, although that message was admittedly quite muted by everything else going on in the story. The incessant barrage of horrific stories that fill our media streams, along with the incessant barrage of violent "entertainment" that is now readily accessible to people of all ages, will eventually take a toll on the human psyche. Despair sets in, and when people reach the point of despair, desperate measures suddenly begin to make sense. Although the movie was a deluge of random and senselessly violent acts, I applaud the courage it took Uwe Boll and everyone else involved to make Rampage . It's definitely not for everyone but if you can stomach 81 minutes (less the credit time) of complete mayhem and destruction, I would recommend giving this one a watch. This was not my first time to watch it: I remembered the very basics of the movie (guy goes on killing spree) but watching it again gave me a new appreciation for it.
It's just a shame he didn't take out that simpering cow that was his mom; I honestly thought she would be first on the list. What an annoying person.
An Uwe Boll movie that's not half bad (check out the bingo sequence)
Now I've seen it all
Rampage is supposedly the one Uwe Boll movie that is semi-decent, but I can't really say that I like it very much. I think I know what they were trying to say with this one, but that still doesn't help me stomach the freaking thing. Hell...I don't know if there even IS a deeper meaning with Rampage. It is, after all, an Uwe Boll movie.
