Was skeptical about this one, but ended being an okay film.. Not great, but not terrible.
Premium Rush got off to a great start but I slowly grew to dislike it over the 90 minute run time. The immensely talented Joseph Gordon Levitt can't even make his character tolerable. He is nothing more than a typical douchebag with a bike. His character manages to make the plot less believable as it progresses. There isn't anything particularly wrong with any of the performances. Michael Shannon is great as an over the top cartoon villain but the over the top foolishness of the characters ruins what would've been a good film otherwise.

Gives a great insight in how dangerous it actually is to cycle in New York City. I liked the movie. Nothing too special but not bad either.

This movie made me think that I wanted to be a bike messenger back when I was in college. The premise is a little silly but it kept me entertained and has some fun bike scenes.
An "urban food log"? Why does this sound like it's trying to be a cool '90s film?
Shots of Bobby Monday's car make me wonder… New York requires two license plates, front and back, so why does his car only have one on the back? It clearly says "New York". (Maybe NYPD vehicles are exempt from this requirement, but I could neither confirm nor refute that possibility through basic online research and don't feel like trawling through actual legal codes.)
Vibes from this film include: Mirror's Edge, Baby Driver, and (as others have said) Transporter.
It's a decent film, if you can overlook how cartoonish Michael Shannon's character is. I had trouble doing so, but enjoyed the rest.

As many others have said, it is an OK film, not great. I was very sceptical at first, .... story of couriers riding bikes... and I was right to be. The bike chase last too long for me. I got so bored that I had to fast forward. What a waste of JGL's talent.
I'd watch Joseph Gorden-Levitt ride a stationary bike, so my rating wouldn't tell you much.
A guilty pleasure with fine work by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Shannon. It wants to be Run Lola Run but with bike messengers pretty much. That movie is better but Premium Rush is still fun.

This movie is all about the bike action, if you don't get it .. . jog on.
At first I didn't really expect much from listening to some cyclists talking about this film, but it turned out to be a great film to watch (for me at least).
I love the purpose of the package and how it needed to get to one destination by 7 PM and the suspense they added to it. Although this was a great film, I may not watch it again any time soon, because as [ketu] stated "there is nothing new in it but it's okay to watch it on an evening if u got nothing else to do."
If you are a biker/skater you gonna have to love that movie. There are so many action scenes where the bikes are riding like hell. Even if you are not you gonna like it - I guess.
(And I am not biker - I ride a motor bike btw).
The pursuit scenes suggests that if you ride a bike in New York City its like war out there. Haha. Sometimes like in Vienna ;)
The plot is very simple, not many surprises in it: a bad cop wants the package. The package is important for a young woman, Gordon-Levitt doesn't want to give away the "package", so he is the hero and get some help from his friends.
No unnecessary Hollywood-Style love scenes in it. Thumbs up.
Even if I am not a big fan of Joseph Gordon-Levitt because he's just so boy-like, he's done a good job in Premium Rush. The whole plot reminds me of the movie called Transporter. So if u like that you gonna love that movie too. Instead of a car they are using a bike.
I give Premium Rush a "Good", however not worth to watch it a 2nd time because there is nothing new in it but it's okay to watch it on an evening if u got nothing else to do.

"Premium Rush" starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Michael Shannon showcase very good stunts and amazing bicycle tricks..but beyond that the film lacks an interesting story good enough to keep you interested. The fancy and creative style of the film makes it original, along with the video game like stunts . But at the end of the day “Premium Rush” is a watchable film but nothing else.
