Character Design of Ash Ketchum was awful. But the CGI animation was very good, appeared to be smooth and authentic.

I quite enjoyed this film. I've seen the original a couple times and thought I'd show this version to my boyfriend. CGI was great, I love it! We both ended up crying and then he was shooketh by how Ash was brought back thinking Mew or Mewtwo would do something themselves. Lmao I don't blame him for that.

We'll be watching more Pokémon movies.

I would be interested in more remakes in this style. :sparkling_heart:

A futile, soulless shot-by-shot remake of the original masterpiece. Hitchcock probably wouldn't tell this story if he was making films today, and he certainly wouldn't tell it this way, with internal 'voices', back projection, minimal nudity and violence.

Can I request a remake of the whole serie with this animation?

I watched the original movie when I was in elementary school and loved it. I am not going to rewatch and keep my childhood memories as they are, but from what I recall there is almost no difference in this remake. Just poor and cold CGI that makes everything feel like plastic. No work has been done on the writing and plot to make this feel less outdated either. It could have been a 3D fan remake on YouTube. But again what was I expecting?

Altough it is a shot by shot remake of the original, it conveys 10% of the emotions and has 0% of the impact. Mewtwo strikes back was one of my favorite movies as a child, and i think it is a conplete mistake for anyone to watch this instead of the original 1999 movie...

Obviously wasn’t going to match the 1998 original but did give it a good try. It felt shorter and rushed and just didn’t have the same feel. I loved it’s animation style.

Mew too - “I see now that the circumstances of one’s birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are”
