W ELL THAT WAS F*CKED
Heartwarming tale of one man and his pet woman. Lovers of Marley and Me, and Beethoven, are going to love this cute tale! Or maybe not... the twists were original but the film is still just kitty litter masquerading as a better pedigree.
This was an interesting movie - not a great movie, in fact it got mostly unfavorable reviews. However, I found it refreshingly different. There were several plot twists that I did not see coming.
My rating is based on my recollection from about 2years ago, when I originally watched it.
I can still remember it quite well and it was a horrible horror film in a good way. It was extremely well done, original story and so creepy! With a real plot twist I didn’t expect.
A good horror Id definitely recommend. It still makes me shudder now from 2yr old memories.
Definitely one to watch if you love horror!
Weird ass stuff! Good acting, good story line.
Extraordinary. Maybe I wasn't interested at first, but the end broke the expectations that even the film itself gave throughout the story. I like how things happened quickly, without much suspense or delay.
Twist was crazy, was not expecting at all
Very good idea for a twisted movie
but what's up with the lock with the number code?
Particularly love the end
This is a tough one, because it started off well, then the deeper into the story we go, the more Pet comes apart at the seams.
We begin with Seth, our lovable loser who reminds us that the only difference between a guy in a romantic comedy who is trying to attract a girl who's out of his league, and a creepy stalker in a horror movie, is the music.
The first act sets itself up like Berlin Syndrome, but has some clever twists. The movie has a fair amount of gore, but this is largely a psychological horror movie - imagine modern-day Alfred Hitchcock.
Moving on to our pet/final girl, Holly. She is thoroughly unlikeable, and the entire time I was hoping she would die, which is how the character needed to be played, because she's out of her fucking mind. I think discount Juno Temple did a great job, but I still wanted her to die - Holly, not Ksenia; she's probably a good person.
I can honestly say that I have never seen another movie exactly like Pet, and the twists kept me guessing, but only until the midpoint. The closer it got to its conclusion, and more I knew I was going to be disappointed. There is another way this movie could have ended, and it is not only more plausible, but more satisfying.
Anyway, the movie looks fantastic. The acting is alright, with the highlight being Dominic's performance. I get it, a story like this has a lot of juggling to do, but if you can't stick that landing it just topples.
Horrible Story. If Saw was a simp.
It raises interesting ideas but skips the continuity in the script completely.
Didn't enjoy this film, it was so messed up and didn't really make any sense!
Modern film version of John Fowles' The Collector. The book was better.
