Simple movie, but mind troubling for so many social reasons… might it be an example that we all should look at and try to understand and accept? I think so.
I love it for is complexity and hardness on a personal level.
I selected this title from an ad displayed on my Roku. I had no idea what it was. This is a real tearjerker! I am glad I took the time to watch this movie. All of the actors did well. They were believable in all of their roles. Thank you to Fisher Stevens for giving us this hidden gem!
Well written, well directed, well acted.
An emotional rollercoaster from start to finish with excellent character development. Stirling performance from JT and really quite impressed with the kid’s performance.
Very enjoyable movie.

Overwrought, melodramatic, predictable, corny, Palmer has every single cliche of the small town drama. If you suspect you've seen this movie just by watching the trailer, let me confirm - you've seen it. In the first 20 minutes, you can easily figured out how everything is going to happen.
A 2021 spin on an incredibly tired genre told in the most saccharine way possible. Troubled-past, good-looking adult that has real good in him gets redeemed by his relationship with a kid formula. It's been done to death! The narrative offers nothing exciting or innovative. Except if you count a boy liking dolls as something original. You’ve seen it million times before - same basic plot, same characters, same arc, everything feels so familiar.
Characters are paper thin. Is Justin Timberlake leading man material? No, he is not. He takes himself so seriously, you can see this is his attempt of seeking awards validation in every baity way possible. Look at his face on this poster -that’s his only expression during the movie. I'm sorry to say this, but I couldn't stand Ryder Allen's performance - I couldn't stop seeing him this incredibly annoying theater kid.
Literally nothing about this film was subtle. The message of it is in your face constantly, many parts felt so preachy and convenient, I couldn't stop eye-rolling.
If you’re one for a mildly dramatic Disney/Lifetime movie with F-bombs and two awkwardly placed sex scenes, this is the film for you.
They focused so hard on delivering a message that they forgot to actually make a movie. Characters are without depth and lifeless. No plot at all. Overall, just a really crappy film. I think people are rating the film high because they approve of the message and ignore that the movie stinks.
A harmless watch.
It’s the kind of movie one watches and then promptly forgets about.
I always end up watching something he has been in and Palmer was no exception. The movie was predictable but it also had some substance. Eh this is worth a watch some heart string moments but I would not expect to much.
Very Raw amazing movie! great acting all around! a feel good movie which doesn't try so hard to be one. I love how they put 'The End' at the end.
So heartwarming!
I didn't cery in a long time on the movie, but this one got me good!!!
The growth!!! Justin was amazing and the kid <3
Good to see Justin Timberlake with another good role since trouble with the curve, In time, friends with benefits.. he’s a good actor/singer. I loved the bond between palmer and sam, it was a nice film and it’s a shame that kids are brought up with parents like that in reality and the system is fucked.
I completely forgot JT even acted, but this was a pretty solid performance. The film reminded me a lot of Gifted with Chris Evans and McKenna Grace because of the similar dynamic between the two main characters. Overall, this one has a very simple plot with a few timely issues at the heart of the story. Not outstanding, but worth a watch.
A simple but very exciting story, with a great performance by Justin :thumbsup_tone1:.
I must say that this was a really good movie.
This movie was actually very good. I played it just to have something on but was actually loving the emotional aspect of it
This movie was a great surprise. I thought it was going to be full of clichés and same old drama, but great act of JT and Ryder. Worth it!
On a par with Billy Elliot the Geordie male ballet dancer. Different but enjoyable.
"There’s things in this world you can be, and there’s things that you can’t."
I thought this was going to be a generic story of someone returning home but I was emotionally invested pretty quickly. Maybe it was the indie soundtrack, or the Apple TV cinematography, but it was great. Kids can be mean. People can be mean. It is up to us to be better.
Lacking depth for high rating. But it’s not wasted time. Solid one to watch.
Great movie from Apple here. I hope it serves as a changing point for some people points of view, prejudices and lifestyle choices.
Predictable, unbelievable, and a little bit boring.
An intensely moving drama, and one that is reflective of so many family situations today. Timberlake is great, and so too is the young Corey Feldman...erm... Ryder Allen, who shines in his role. Recommended.
this was a decent movie.timberlake done a pretty good job.
Decent movie, good performances by all the artists..
Pleasantly surprised with this one... Heartwarming to see how much they both ended up needing each other at the end of the day.
Interesting development of characters throughout the movie. Solid performance of Justin Timberlake and the kid. I enjoyed this movie.

Spectacularly good. Timberlake is just shining in this and Ryder Allen's performance is nothing short of amazing, one to look out for in the future for sure.
