Chick flick that is completely predictable, as per usual.

Predictable rom-com with some very good laughs. But hey, sometimes you just simply need to turn your brain off for a while.
There's a good realism to the realities of MN as well as playing into obvious stereotypes, and there's a good balance there between humour and sincerity. Though the film definitely leans on the laughs through most of it!
BUT by golly... someone give Blanche a hug, bc that woman is a gem!
A movie that puts two people togethers no matter how not realistic it is for it to happen. Just watching scenes that have no real consequence because you know the movie ends happy no matter what happens during it. Didn't give me a reason to keep watching so I turned it off.

This movie is about as textbook romantic comedy as you can get. Every single element is covered here. Though completely forgettable and there will never be a need to see it again, I guess this is worth one viewing. The chemistry between Zellweger and Connick is pretty bland and I blame it on him. She is using all her acting skill and smirks and faces to turn on the charm but it seems lost on him. The worst part of the movie is the gross overuse of the comedic element of the Fargo-like Minnesota accent. We get it, they talk funny. The ending is clearly visible by the 30 minute mark. There is nothing to really hate here, but nothing memorable either.
