Relatable to anybody who has hidden their sexuality in fear of the repercussions that might happen if the truth about themselves is revealed. A well acted tale but a sad one.
I thought this was a solid drama and I was pleasantly surprised by Harry Styles, in fact the whole cast was great. The story wasn't anything especially groundbreaking but it was well done and certainly worth a watch.
Maybe we should stop trying to make Harry Styles an actor. I felt like he was the weakest part of this film.
Reading all the comments saying "Harry Styles should stick to singing." got me worried if this movie is worth my time; but now that I've watched it I must say his performance was of the better aspects of this movie as the plotline had much much bigger problems. Why was only Patrick sent to jail when the court knew Tom is gay as well? Why was the gap in the storyline so huge that jumped from Venice-going gay couples to stroke-having old men? Why the hell did Tom hate Patrick so much that he refused to see him even after having a stroke?! How did Marion find Patrick half-dead after all these years? These all just don't add up.
Not a masterpiece, but definitely a very good film. Makes you remember what hell it is to be living as a victim of discrimination.
Styles is a nice surprise as actor, while Everett is downright moving.
My Policeman has all the drama and social punch of a 1970s NBC after-school special stuck in a Britsh-mannered morality play. So many exciting films plumb the frisson and mystery of an ill-fated triad. Two come to mind immediately—if you want to see Linus Roache shine in a parallel plot, see Wings of A Dove (1997). But a more striking companion piece to this film would be the real-life story of Bloomsbury Group members Dora Carrington and Lytton Strachey in Carrington (1995), which is just a wild and tragic but deeply loving story of unconventional lives.
A lovely film, highly recommended. It was well written and well cast. It’s good to see Harry Styles continuing with his film career.
[Prime Video] It fails not only in the choice of the leading actors, but above all in the inability to avoid conventions in a story that has a deep emotional charge. There is no real ability in the director to extract the dramatic force of this love triangle wrapped in the homophobia of the time, and some scenes that seem to have force over the script end up being completely wasted.
This movie was so bad, comical writing and very cliché.

This movie was beautiful. I highly recommend it. It's very confronting but the ending had me in tears.
