A character driven 80s teen horror comedy that centers on friendship. Character's are fun and comedic especially the Lemon brother character he was hilarious. I'm still not a fan of Elsie Fisher's acting she makes weird faces sometimes but the true star of this movie was Amiah Miller she did an awesome job. Loved the Stranger Things-esque music and vibe. Overall an easy watch and I had a few laughs.
This movie was actually better than what I thought it would of been. It’s a fun young adult horror comedy, so enjoy it for what it is. Any one between middle school and college age will probably really enjoy this, especially if you like stranger things.
What a garbage. This is a teen horror comedy that is severely lacking charm, thrills, and laughs. I couldn't get into Grady Hendrix books so I can't tell how faithful this is to the source material, but I'm afraid to tell you that this film wants you to feel nothing because it falls flat and offers zero fun. The elements are there but they don't come together in a compelling or exciting way. The comedy is painfully unfunny. The entire 80's aesthetic is so annoyingly forced it's honestly tiring to watch. Avoid.
Having never read or heard of the book, this movie was really not on my radar. Based on a recommendation from a friend, I was excited for possibly a decent Prime movie. It was…fine. There’s gonna be an audience for it, but you have to like your cheesy horror. In my opinion there’s better ways to scratch that itch.

I read the book - I found it really scary but fun. The book, of course, is better - although the dog was brutally murdered in the book, but luckily not in the film. Overall, the movie is pretty boring, and lands flat.
It’s a decent movie to have on the background while you do something else. It’s not terrible but it sure isn’t good. Great soundtrack though.

There was nothing good about the 80’s except maybe a pop music genre. But there is absolutely nothing good about this just another bland wannabe horror movie set in the 80’s.

This felt like a knock-off Jennifer's Body and I mean like clearance bin. There was nothing meaningful, funny, scary or likeable about this movie - it has no reason to exist. Disappointing, the premise looked great but failed on all fronts.
