I really enjoyed this movie, it is a new twist on the large number of scifi stories about robotics (Ex Machina), with some more of the controversial ideas about genetics and cloning (Gataca), and the dangers of corporate control of genes/lifeforms (Aliens). The performances were very good, especially Anya Taylor-Joy (albeit and didn't look 5yo accelerated development notwithstanding), one exception was Paul Giamatti's character Dr Shapiro s wholly unbelievable (unless the writers were intending to have a psychotic psychologist in a key role), the story could have been much less predictable without his character. I could see this being the first of several bioeng assassin films,.
With these actors I was expecting to see a better movie. Waste of cast, no wonder it made very poor at the box office.
I really enjoyed the first 40 minutes, sadly the movie falls apart afterwards. No finesse, too predictable.
Ouch! Such a boring movie...!!!
It wants to mimic ex machina but as that film this one fails also. Pretentious piece of bad movie with boring and lame story.
No. Just no.
I was really excited when I read the plot, because there's so damn much potential there. And unfortunately, story-wise, they probably did everything wrong that one could possibly do wrong.
About 20 minutes in, I jokingly said 'Hey. You know what the worst way this could play out be? If, as hinted at the beginning, they'd all be oh-so in love with their AI that they'd do something utterly stupid that causes it to escape, kill everyone and face that risk management gal in a final showdown, just to reveal that said gal was an AI itself.'
Being through with the movie, I conclude that actually watching the rest was just a waste of time.
I mean, in terms of cinematography they'd created something really great! If it'd come down to both that and the plot, Morgan really would deserve 8/10.
But seriously, the utter lack of creativity, desperate attempt at creating suspense and straightforward pseudo plot twist, paired with less than mediocre acting created a movie that brought back long-dead memories of House of Wax; only without it embracing the fact that it's trash.
So, then again, not even from this standpoint it's fun to watch.
I'll finish my rant by strongly advising to skip this movie and enjoy these 80 minutes of quality time by doing something that's actually satisfactory.
Else where this film is under horror, nah, this film isn't a horror, It's a thriller, and this site has it right.. some would say it's a comedy, i laughed a little ha Anyways I've made that clear, this film came out of nowhere, one of them films you don't hear about till it hits the cinema or close to Its due date... The only negative i have about this film is that it's too short, being a fast paced action film, I'd of preferred it to be longer, If that's just me, thats just me.. other than that this film was great, great cast, sweet twist, some good action.. P.S Don't piss of Morgan or even look at lee...
Continuing my AT-J filmography I ended up watching Morgan. And oh boy is it a disappointing movie...
Entirety feels like verging on the edge of being a b-class thriller, when it comes to execution. Fight scenes are so badly montaged that all you see are a constant and very frequent cuts, so most of the time you can't even tell who's throwing a punch. Actors are doing their job nicely, especially Anya Taylor-Joy and Paul Giamatti, rest of the cast is also very good. What spoiled it for me was a predictable plot twist and just really weak and lazy ending in my opinion.
Sorry Luke, but you should stick to directing commercials.
Don't waste your time, just go watch Ex Machina. This movie is terrible.
Predictable and lazy. A waste of talent, money and time.
Waste of time.. spoliers without context: Pong
I have a feeling this movie makes Corporate Risk Management seem more galmorous than it really is
Do android dream about electric sheep? ;)
It was decent enough to keep me entertained.
It starts well but in the 49th minute they fuck everything and the pot goes away. At least in the end they fix something. And if it looks a lot like Ex-machina
Érdekes gondolatokat vet fel a film.
Very predictable movie and in my opinion too many holes in the story and things that do not add up. Best thing in this movie was that I recognized some of my favourite actors from various tv shows: Rose Leslie(GoT), Kate Mara(House of cards), Toby Jones (Wayward Pines), Other than that I would suggest to stay away from this one, you have been warned!
Morgan is a consistently mediocre movie. The cast really deserve a better project than this. The story really doesn't introduce anything new its and it really couldn't be any less interesting. Performances are all fine with the exception of Kate Mara who is terrible. They even try to use a twist ending to explain how boring she is and it just makes the movie look stupid.
This movie was excruciatingly boring and predictable, and the acting just felt so bland and robotic (pardon the pun) long time since I've sat and watched a film and just not been in interested in ANY of the characters, even the fight scenes were boring! Shame really the idea is brilliant but just totally not portrayed well at all and didn't hit the mark for me at all.
"I've seen things that you people couldn't believe..." - Lots of similar concepts to "Blade Runner".
Not a contender for movie of the year but not so bad either. Feels like a rip off of Ex Machina though and quite predictable.
Very entertaining even if you guess whats up...made me want to watch Bladerunner
Not completely what I was expecting, but I enjoyed it. I could call the ending twist before the end though.
what a SOLID reveal!!!! I spent the whole movie trying to figure it out and couldn't

The film begins slowly but builds up to be more than an Ex Machina clone, with some neat twists and a surprising dose of action.
