Charlize Theron gives the performance that most actors dream of. She is easily giving one of the best performances of the new millennium here. Monster doesn't replicate the quality of her performance but Theron grabs your attention through the whole movie. I just wish it focused a bit more on the killings and not the relationship with her girlfriend. Patty Jenkins deserves a round of applause for getting us to empathize with a serial killer.

Beautiful drama about a street prostitute developing a lesbian relationship and turning into a serial killer. Based on a true-story. Definitely worth watching. 8.5/10
I expected that this movie would be more about killing, but it was more about Aileen and Selby, their relationship, and that this a little bit dissapointment for me..

Great movie but it's 100% Theron doing it from beginning to end. I don't know what's up with Ricci, if it is the script or direction or a miscast or if Ricci just can't match Theron's performance. It's unfortunate because it could had been legendary if Ricci had leaned more depth into Selby with all the potential that is there. That it is still a great movie is... all Theron.

Charlize Theron gives one of the best female performances in the last decade, unfortunately the rest of the movie does not reach the level of her brilliance. Well worth the watch for Theron's performance.
