more entertaining than expected.
worth the lols
This is great. Really. Admire it for its genre. Totally ninja. Sure, might not be super intellectual or original. At the same time, it's a fine addentum for the genre lover. The premise is clear and it surely does what it want, with style - of its purpose.
Have fun. Don't be a prude. Watch it
Then go watch Captain Fantastic (and Into The Wild) another day.
Pe[i]ace.
I'm a sucker for this kinda flick and Mike & Dave delivered on every front.
Going into this movie, I thought it was going to be awful. It turned out to be really funny, though predictably dumb at some points.
Plain and simple this is just a stupid slap stick comedy that you have to have the taste for. However, if you get paste all the big production and at times bad acting, its a very entertaining watch as it follows 2 irresponsible brothers who post a ad for 2 respectful dates to their sister's wedding in order to avoid messing up yet another family function, but things don't go according to plan.
This one was a blast to revisit! I love all four or the leads and it consistently pushed boundaries for the sake of being enjoyable! Comedies like this rarely happens nowadays and it has been long enough since I watched it that this genuinely felt like a treat to watch.

Everyone looked like they had fun making this movie...but it was kinda really bad. Some funny parts tho.
This movie is a hot mess, and that is probably the best thing and the worst thing about it. Can someone get Adam DeVine a role where he isn't playing the exact same character as everything else that I have seen him in? The first half hour is absolutely atrocious. The movie does pick up a bit towards the end (thankfully). I get that this is a rom com centered around a wedding and that alone is cliché. But the writing is just soooooo bad.

Terrible!!
Adam Devine might be the least funny person on the planet and his forced humor incited such anger in me I wanted to hurt him bad, like a 2 month coma bad.
Aubrey Plazas had a bad haircut and wasn’t funny. Also unfunny a squeaky airhead blonde and a creepy lesbian with the brain of a lecherous old pervert and a Flock of Seagulls haircut. Imagine if Kate McKinnon was an unfunny pedophile and your close.
Enron was the least annoying for once.
If a movie is EXACTLY what you thought it was going to be and you watch it anyway, it is your fault. I take the blame. As such movies go, this is utterly forgettable.
A great cast and amusing humour, but man does it take itself too seriously.
I think I can just about consider 'Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates' as a good film. The lead stars do respectable jobs and most of the comedy is funny, the fact that it tries to be heartfelt on too many occasions almost derails my feelings towards it though.
Zac Efron (Dave), Adam DeVine (Mike), Anna Kendrick (Alice) and Aubrey Plaza (Tatiana) all connect very well together, the chemistry in their respective cliques isn't always there but for the comical stuff they work.
Efron and Plaza would be my picks from the onscreen talent, especially Plaza who commits to the role nicely; despite an iffy accent. Elsewhere you have Sam Richardson (Eric), Lavell Crawford (Keith) and Stephen Root (Burt) appearing, they have relatively minor roles though it's cool to see them involved.
It's the attempted heartwarming story that lets this down, I guess it does leave with a positive message but none of it comes across in the film itself - I didn't connect with any of the characters on a proper level, Jake Szymanski & Co. should've just went for the 100% pure comedy. Being earnest is OK but you simply have to make it click, it doesn't here.
Thankfully, the satisfactory if sometimes hit-and-miss humour just about rescues this from soppy romcom territory.
I've definitely seen worse comedies out there. I think the biggest problem I have with it, and television shows like 'Family Guy', is the over-reliance on reference humor. It's like the film makers are saying, "Hey audience members, we saw Jurassic Park movies. Look, we know memorable scenes from them. Doesn't that just make us so fucking funny?" Every scene, they're just casually listing off a popular movie, thinking that makes their own movie good. It's really gotten old. Reference humor is one of the lowest forms of comedy you can do now.
I admit, I enjoyed Zac Efron and the other actresses in their roles. There were a couple of funny scenes, but nothing really sticks out to me... except one particularly cringe-worthy massage scene in the middle of the movie. It's something straight out of Sacha Baron Cohen production, it's really crude and goes on for too long. You remember that extremely explicit elephant sex scene from 'The Brothers Grimsby'? Yeah, it's a little like that, except it's not as explicit.
A couple funny scenes are ultimately bogged down by some really terrible cringe-worthy moments, making this just another average comedy.
Very Funny Movie I like it so much
Pretty funny movie, political incorrect and I have been laughing for the entire movie. nice!
Mike and Dave don't have the best reputations when it comes to basically everything, but especially family parties. When their little sister Jeanie is going to get married their parents give them one ultimatum. Come with nice dates, or don't come at all. They are up for the challenge, and meet Alice and Tatiana. Only to find out later that the two girls are not exactly who they say they are.
This movie lived up to my expectations in every single way. I laughed so hard throughout basically the whole movie. I loved it. I feel like this wasn't one of your usual comedies as well. It perhaps has to do something with the storyline, I liked it. Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick their characters were surprisingly different from what I imagined they were going to be. Adam DeVine was his great funny self again, not really surprising but very enjoyable. I've never seen Sugar Lyn Beard before, I needed some time getting used to her character but she was so great. The main question I have been asking myself is why don't I see Aubrey Plaza in more movies? She is so cool.
What I really like about comedies is that if you don't just focus on the main actors but also the people and things around them nothings seems to be quite right, I think that that's extremely funny. so yea. I really recommend this film. I loved it. I'm going to watch it again.
Mike and Dave needed a funnier script. It has its moments but not enough of them.
I was expecting something better, especially with Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza. It's an ok movie.
Yeah it wasn't that good. I like Kendrick and Plaza in general but this was not a fun movie
Kako da pustim da gledam?
i enjoyed every bit of it, was so much fun to watch.

What a terrible movie. There was nothing funny or remotely interesting here. Just a lot of bad acting.
I went into this movie expecting cheesy... But it blew my expectations out of the water.
