After watching some of the animated version on Disney XD with my kids and catching some of it on Netflix by myself. It was exactly what I expected. Not for adults. For a child targeted audience it was great. Teen angst, light romance, a sense of overcoming and finding ones self. Cliche after cliche. The movie holds up though.
Actually, I was stunned. The film is much better and easier than expected. There is room for it to develop into a much better and more interesting second part. I hope they will not screw up a sequel. And the suit is pretty cool.
72% (at time of writing)? Seriously? No. :P
I can neither believe the trakt rating (68%) nor the reasoning that some make up ("If you didn't like it, your expectations are the problem!"). As if a movie for and about teens couldn't be bad, just because it is for and about teens.
Bad acting (Andy Garcia, wtf happened to you?).
Bad script ("I have a brilliant plan to beat the villain! It's exactly the same someone else had previously! The villain will never see it coming!").
Dumb characters, who can't think straight forward for a second.
Annoying sidekick(s) with incredibly bad humor.
All fighting scenes are a f***ing joke.
Max Steele is pure trash and that's all.
Skip this one. So boring...
The film reminded me the 90's Power Ranger movies and Dragonball Evolution. In other words, terrible! Moody and dull, this could have been better and cooler. Instead it crashes and burns.
I don't know what people are expecting. I went into this movie without knowing the comics and was greatly entertained. Humor, Sci-Fi, a villain, a love story, a happy ending. It's all there.
So Max Steel has powers huh? Well, I've got powers of my own. I saw the trailer to this and could tell it would be terrible.
I've got the sixth sense, which is common sense.
Very bad. The action scenes are very badly shot, the close-ups with the faces of the protagonists are ridiculous and meaningless
Kind of a mixed bag, this movie.
I had high hopes for this movie to be a great action flick, which it at times actually deliver, mainly due to great sound design that really makes use of the surround sound system.
However, it seems like it is trying to be two different movies at once; a dark story and a funny one at the same time, which was my main difficulty with it. It just came out kind of silly.
This is a fun movie but it's nothing special. I don't mean that in a mean way, not at all because I quite enjoyed it really. The acting was good, so was the animation and the camera work. It's just wasn't great. I do want to say that I really enjoyed Ben Winchell as Max, he was very good.
You know, it's a cool story and it's very enjoyable movie. You won't miss much if you don't watch it, but still, if you do, it's good.
An average movie. The story line was interesting at the beginning. I liked the idea that Max and Steel cannot live without each other. The visuals are pretty good. They have managed to accomplish a lot without many big names in the cast except maybe Andy Garcia. They left a cliffhanger though so maybe someday we will watch a sequel.
yea i dont like it

Well... If you hesitate between two movie, watch the other. It's not that bad but it's kinda dull.
Someone pass the popcorn!!! I'm goin in
#Kodi&Kuddle .. this looks good! Anyone seen this?
well he surely can scream! and a lot, like a looooot. but all that screaming didn't get him to save the movie. but meh maybe he'll scream it off.

I don't understand what people are expecting from this movie, either they have gone into it expecting a masterpiece of cinema or are expecting a completely different film.
This does exactly what it sets out to do, the acting was good, the cinematography was good, the pace of the film was good.
It is an origin story that sets itself up for sequels or what would be better, a live action TV series.
Don't expect anything more than a live action remake of a childrens cartoon because that is what it is and it does it very well.
