Matt Rife: Natural Selection 2023

I love Matt but honestly this suffers from the fact that he wasn't interacting and improvising with the audience which is where he excels.

wow, his full standup "specials" on youtube are infinitely better than this

This was a great laugh. And still young, he’ll only get better.

Not my favorite special of his, but still good if you appreciate his style of comedy. If I had to introduce his stand up to someone, I would reference his YouTube special first.

Honestly... the weakest comedy special that I've seen on Netflix. And I usually like his stuff but man... this is almost boring

I've seen several clips online from him and I thought I'd give it a shot, but I think he doesn't carry a good rhythm. He has a couple of gems followed by long stretches of ugh. And he doesn't keep the momentum which is a real shame.

Yes if you compare it to his other work it would be underwhelming because you miss the crowd work, but taking it as a standalone show, it was a decent one.

Well there is probably a legit reason why all his instagram and social videos are about crowd work, that he does it excellent. As a stand up he is very very poor. Even if he tries to convince us that he is a comedian and he does not do only crowd work. The ending was bad and really arrogant.
