One of my favorite films of the year. Imagine a grittier version of Love, Actually. Sometimes a movie just takes over and puts a smile in your face and you just go with it. For me, this was one of those movies.

I think Lake is the first American to do a flawless English accent. Honestly I'm shook because of how good it is. I kept waiting for her to slip but she never did. AMAZING!

I've always liked Pegg & Bell so this was an easy watch. Didn't expect the full on British accent from the latter but she made it work. Above avg romcom w some sandpaper to it. The occasional overcheese decision but a solid entry to the genre (and now 8 yrs old). 6.6
This was a good movie! Just happened to stumble across it on Plex and I'm glad I did. The part at the bar where the guy's arm catches fire was funny lol.:laughing:
A formulaic romcom. The sad thing is the two leads (Simon Pegg and Lake Bell) are capable of so so much more, so this movie felt like they were holding themselves back.
So good enough for a winter evening, but nothing they should be proud of.
That was so LOVELY. More romcoms like this, Bridget Jones's Diary, and The Decoy Bride please!!
And thank you, dear brain, for somehow paying attention to the single line in the non-fiction audiobook about romcoms I was listening to that mentioned this movie.

I love, love Lake Bell. But hearing whatever accent she was going for in this, made me turn it off immediately.
Simon Pegg is hotter than a ten dollar flat screen right now. Lake Bell is good except for the disastrous accent. Loved this movie for what it is, doesn't try to be too much.

Might be a movie that has fallen a bit under the radar, but its an ok comedy with a little bit of romance. Sure, it was a bit of a cliche, but still, it had its moments and it left me somewhat entertained through it all. Not a 10/10 movie, but around 5-6/10 perhaps. Decent watch if you want comedy/romance.

A very nice romantic comedy with believable character. But I assume that you must be at least in your late twenties to relate with the actors.
