Maggie Moore(s) 2023

Not bad! It doesn't do anything exceptional, but sometimes these paint by numbers mysteries are all you need. Easy viewing with a few nose-exhale-worthy gags, Maggie Moore(s) is worthy of a lazy Sunday afternoon when you've not got much going on and need a movie with a low attention investment requirement. Give it a shot, you can certainly do much worse.

My honey and I did not laugh a single time and she fell asleep half way through. Not sure why this is categorized as a mystery because there is not one.

Pretty good movie. Kept us intrigued from start to finish. Good number of LOL moments along the way.

Was hoping that this would be the 2023 version of Confess, Fletch. An under the radar, sneaky great film. Sadly, this is not that.

A few good laughs, but that's it.
Quite a boring movie without a compelling story and forgettable side characters.
Skip this one, it's not worth your time. It's one of those movies that is meant to run in the background while you do something more worth your time.

Loosely based on a true story! A few unexpected twists, a couple laughs, pretty good.

This wasn't really what I expected. I thought that there'd be more comedy, but that wasn't the case. This was very much a semi-light-hearted drama with some comedic elements. It was also dark, and it gave me Fargo vibes. I'd never seen Tina Fey in a role of this type, and I thought that she did really well. In fact, I'd like to see her branch out, and take on more roles like this.

Unlikeable and badly put together movie wastes the talents of its cast.

Fargo goes rom-com. Essentially a "catch the killer" crime mystery with a romance on the side. It's tonally all over the place but it had it's moments. The comedy was hit and miss for me but I still laughed a couple times. The scenes with Jon Hamm are the most enjoyable but the most memorable character by far is Kosco (Happy Anderson). I liked the twist, the movie gets pretty violent and the third act was wild.
