Love, Simon 2018

I cried on the Ferris wheel scene. I’m an emotional mess.

Nice and entertaining movie. I don't find anything else remarkable.
I read the book and it has little changes, but some of them I didn't like.

a high school romantic comedy thats actually good? and its gay? please make more movies like this. it has a great cast and lots of heart.

I watched this with one of my friends from Uni and I am still reeling from it many hours later. It's iconic, life giving, and everything I never knew I needed to see on a big screen. I laughed so hard I cried, and I cried so much my face needed a grade a certifiable ShamWow to clean it up. Maybe I'm too sentimental, maybe I'm still feeling the high from this film, but it is a grade A romcom drama that gets what being a part of this community is like and it is well worth the watch. You can tell it was a creation of love, and whether you're part of the community or not I am sure you can appreciate and enjoy this film.

While the film does fall prey to the occasional cliche, it is still much better than the usual Hollywood fare when dealing with coming out stories. There is much to recommend here for anybody, regardless of sexuality, but despite being a good film overall, I hope it is also one that inspires others to be true to themselves. Love, Lee.

It’s a 10 because this is beautiful and rare. Thank you <3

By far, the best movie I've seen in a long time. I want a great love story like that! Everyone deserves one :) BRAVO! 10/10

anyone who's read the book is probably losing their mind, myself included. anyone who hasnt read the book but is excited for the movie, go read the book asap and before it comes out.
nick robinson and keiynan lonsdale deserve this and the recognition theyre going to get. cant wait

Simon's friends not sitting with him at school the day after he was outed makes them look like homophobes, so that was funny.

Love, Simon is a great high school coming of age story that is very funny and emotional at the same time. I had a great time watching. Chemistry between cast is superb. Acting is on point and soundtrack is just perfect. This movie touched me and I wish it was longer...

Wasn't expecting to cry so much??
Beautiful friendships, amazing parents, wonderful love story :hearts:

Third time I watch this film and loved it as much as the book when I read it the first time.
It doesn’t matter if it’s been ten years since you came out or if you’re a teenager going through the same stuff Simon is at 17... it’s very easy to feel related.
Not the usual gay story, we need more like this one out there

Absolutely adore this movie, probably one of my favourites of all time and something I can personally relate with. There was equal amounts of angst and fluff but not overly cheesy. We definitely need more films like this in the world. Love, Emmie

as a straight guy this made me realize, that regardless of sexual preference i just love watching romance movies.

loading replies

PERFECT. One line bothered me is "I can deal with you being gay" it's.. it doesn't work like that but okay overall it was truly amazing and overwhelming 10/10

As a gay man who was never really in the closet (I was fairly open with my parents about most things), I was a little shocked by Simon's betrayal of his friends to hide his sexuality. Then again, everyone's story is different and I made my share of bad decisions as a teen...

What I appreciated most about Love, Simon was the John Hughes feel of the film, and I'm looking forward to the day when we have a teen romance for gays where their homosexuality isn't the major plot line. Still, when the film ended I'd cried more than once and truly felt like I'd enjoyed an authentic cinematic experience.

This got picked on family movie and I am glad I put my phone down and paid attention

A solid high school drama. It's nice to see a gay point of view. There are still some cliches but it doesn't ruin the story. Acting was great all around.

This movie was heartwarming. I don't think I've ever cried so much in a movie and I don't think I've ever felt so well represented.
It was beautifully written and it had an amazing soundtrack. Love, Simon is, hopefully, a step forward in the process of normalising homosexuality. I hope it helps educating people that are not familiar with this subject and that don't understand the pain that most people within the LGBT community go through during the process of coming out. So please, go watch it, support it and give the love it deserves because who knows how many lives this movie can save, literally.

If you're going to come out then go for it because everyone deserves to be themselves. I really enjoyed this film, loved how it all fitted together after the guessing game that it portraits and It came out with a strong message along with a great cast. Love, CinemanicBonkers.

I swear I can watch this over and over again <3

7.7/10

This film held my attention. The only reason I went to see it, was that I enjoyed the soundtrack (listened before knowing about the movie), and also saw Rob Simonsen did the score (he also did the score for Nerve, one of my favorites), but I did not know much about the idea behind the plot.

That being said, I enjoyed this film. It didn't feel like the typical Hollywood BS of a gay man will be sexually into all of his male friends/can not have a platonic relationship. This was more like, normal everyday life, of someone trying to find a way to deal with their abnormal sexuality. I was able to relate to this a lot more than other films' attempts, and I don't even agree with the lifestyle, so that is saying something.

Overall, a good watch, with some great and familiar actors.

A simple, heartfelt movie. Didn't think i'd enjoy it as much as i did. If your're on the fence to watch it, just do - i think you'll come to enjoy it.

Charming teen rom com. There's nothing unmissable here but. it ticks the boxes of light and satisfying. Easy to watch and this likely I'll one day watch again. The lead Nick Robinson has got a laid back it factor.

It's crazy that this is the first major studio film to feature a gay romance.

This was so wholesome, cute, funny, adorable, and I love Simon so much.
He really does need to find better friends though, because the way they just left him when he needed them the most was super uncool and very shitty.

This movie.... i got cold, warm, left a tear... it whas perfect

A heart-wrenching movie that left me with a warm feeling in my chest. I went into this movie with high expectations, and they were each surpassed! The actors were incredible, the soundtrack was amazing, and the story, albeit cliche at times, had me invested from start to finish! The journey of finding Blue was fun, intriguing, and even heart-shattering at times.

All-in-all, amazing movie. I highly recommend it to anyone who is planning a movie night.

I see almost no resemblance to the book, which makes me completely sad, because the film destroyed the personality and story of several characters, including Simon's own family, disappearing with one of his sisters, which makes no sense. Furthermore, as the story was distorted, in my view, it is impossible to tell Leah's story, since this is the second book; this would only be possible if they burned the book that the author wrote and did something completely different, which could not be called a work based on a book. To be honest, Love, Simon doesn’t really seem based on the book, it looks like they took random phrases from the book and played in the movie, creating completely different things that change everything about the people around Simon. I was completely disappointed.

When the movie is way better than the book. I loved it so much.

Go big or go home!

I definitely loved this movie, so heartwarming and delicate, yet the ending could be more ambitious and less obvious! Great movie, poor ending.

loading replies

I like the movie overall. The feeling and emotion while adding comedy really does stir well because of the timing. I loved the movie as it did bring a few tears onto my eyes. The movie did manage to represent the book well.

loading replies

I really enjoyed this film, it was sweet

loading replies

It lacks the idea for the couple last scenes, it was so unrealistic - happyend meeting at the wheel… unless it was written as a fairytale, than great job! ;)

Ok, this is my refresh

loading replies

It got me hooked from the first minute... It surprised me, made me genuinely laugh, made me cry and explode butterflies in my stomach. Love it! 10 out of 10 without a doubt

loading replies

Ending was obvious and by that also annoying.
Nothing special.

Cute AF. Need more movies like this in my life!

I cannot believe how good this movie was. I’ve heard great things but was not sure if it wasn’t just a hype. It wasn’t.
I liked it a lot and enjoyed watching it and had to actually cry as I was feeling it so much at points. It’s a bit cheese but a good and modern cheese that didn’t go too far as unfortunately other movies do. Even the gay cliches were finally mostly abandoned and the characters are way more real than I’ve ever seen in a movie with or about gays.

So I guess this is Tape 0 then.

Can't say anything bad about this movie. Really enjoyed watching it and all the little details within the story it tells.

What a movie!!! "Express yourself " main moral of this film.
The way director carries the story is amazing...
And the cast also fantastic.

It is not only for gays but also for the people who hides themselves.
It shows your hiding cabe more trouble than expose.
Thanks for the great movie.

"Must watch movie".

Express yourself, Don't hide yourself

Nice little high school movie with a gay protagonist. About time!

loading replies

This is the best thing that has come to this world.

loading replies

Soundtrack & score was great too!

I absolutely loved this movie! So glad I watched it <3 The ending reminded me of the movie, "Never Been Kissed."

loading replies

This movie relates way much to my life than I expected, the dialogues were so inspiring, I cried and cried.
I really liked this movie, but to be honest it represents a reality where despite the struggle of being a gay white man, there are worse situations, I get the point of this movie, but I think films like this can open society to a wider lgbt+ situations and maybe make them aware and more tolerant.

As things started to go wrong I though it'd a really dark, but really possible turn of events if he killed himself at the end. and then I spent the rest of the movie hoping I was wrong. so glad I was, that kiss was perfect, but I thought for sure it was going to be Garret.

loading replies

Ok i loved the main character and the movie made me cry but there was a lot of inconsistencies and his friends were really mean to him just dropping him like that . Also the ferris wheel scene was cringe.

Muito melhor do que eu esperava, amei!

I watched this last night at a Cineworld Secret Screening (it means I had no idea what film they were showing before sitting down). I'd not heard of it, so I most likely wouldn't have chosen to watch it. But wow, what a fantastic film! The characters and the story were brilliant, and the fact it's based on a book doesn't surprise me.
