This movie was funnier than I thought it would be based on the plot.
This was so much fun, predictable but lovable.
I was raised in the 90's and I watched every Meg Ryan movie, so I know a good romantic comedy when I see one. This is a good one.
A great, feel-good, Christmas movie. Enjoyed this. I mean, you can see the ending coming a mile off, but that doesn't stop you from enjoying the ride along the way.
The main plot is predictable, yes, but it's occasionally properly funny and consistently sweet.
I honestly welled up at Bob smelling the candle. As someone who lost their parent, that was an unexpected arrow to the heart.
It's ok, but too predictable. Also, the side characters were too over-the-top. A grandma who loves dirty jokes. An Asian father who speaks fluent English and actually loves his son. Apparently, the father is also married to a blond woman who is a stereotypical Karen. Other characteres like Tag or this taxi driver also had no depth or meaning except for being there. The title could be called "lovehard" but actually they didn't try hard...
Aside from the Love Actually thing, this was a simple, dull movie. It's a shame that complex, witty yet charming Christmas movies are rare. This could have been so much better, but unfortunately, it only aimed at the bare minimum and mostly operated with unnecessarily awkward and annoying scenes.
i loved the message the movie was trying to give, n that catfishing ain't only about fake profiles n using sm1 else's picture ... it's also about pretending to be sm1 else ain't u ...
honest is so needed in the beginning of the relationships to last longer, not a super sparkly beginning that will fade away with time after discovering the true colors of the other person ..
sigh pliz dont mind me, i loved the movie so much for being related in some parts.
also nina rocks i love her xd HAVE A GOOD DAY
Nina Dobrev stars in the trite Netflix Christmas film Love Hard. When a romance columnist decides to surprise her online boyfriend by visiting him for Christmas, she discovers that she’s been catfished, but makes a deal to pretend to be his girlfriend for the holidays in exchange for his help in dating the real guy that he posed as online. The plot is formulaic and predictable, and woke as all-hell (which is never fun in a comedy). Dobrev gives a solid performance, but her character isn’t all that likeable. Nonetheless, there are some cute holiday moments, and an overall positive message about being honest and open in relationships. Love Hard is a by-the-numbers, stereotypical rom-com that’s problematic, but is still fairly entertaining.
Cute rom com with a Christmas theme. Got exactly what I wanted.
The only bit I had a problem with was when they called Nina Dobrev an LA 6. In what universe could that be true!
I, too, enjoy "rolling with my homies."
This is at once the most wholesome and weirdest movie I've seen in a long time. Cheers to Josh, the most wholesome romcom MC of all time. I mean, just let the man make his candles, okay?
I cried, but who’s surprised
more like 6,5 ish
I mean it's a holiday romcom so no real surprise, but it was still enjoyable. some cringe moment here and there and I found myself laughing and rooting for some characters
Amazing start of the Christmas season! Definatly going on the list of christmas classics to rewatch every year
Slightly better than expected and worth watching it.
I didn’t expect to like this one as much as I did, but it’s cute!
A bit of a wooden acting, maybe not a Christmas movie classic either, but at least Ken wasn't the one for Barbie here. ;)
I’m here for my boy from Silicon Valley, Jìan-Yáng. "Special occasion!"
Not going to lie, I only realized why this movie is called Love Hard after reading some online comments
It's exactly what you think it's going to be. But I still liked it. The leads are great. The story is paced well. And there are some genuinely funny moments.

"Love Hard" takes the classic rom-com formula and adds a modern twist by exploring the pitfalls of online dating. The story cleverly subverts expectations when the protagonist, played by Nina Dobrev, discovers her online crush isn't who he claimed to be. The ensuing mix of humor and genuine emotions keeps the audience engaged. While some plot points may feel predictable, the film manages to deliver unexpected turns, making it a delightful watch. Dobrev's chemistry with the cast, especially Jimmy O. Yang, elevates the romantic elements, creating a memorable and enjoyable movie experience.
Surprisingly good. Up to minute 14 I was thinking this might be a bit of a dud, but from minute 15 forward it got pretty good with plenty of laughs. The ending was telegraphed from the beginning, with no twists or anything.
Still worth watching - and I hate "chick-flicks."
8/10
It's a good movie with a nice message, but let's be honest.
Never in real life would the cute popular girl fall in love with the nerd.
This movie is probably everything that you thought it would be and hoped it would be given the genre. Is the movie full of cliches and often predictable? You bet. But the movie often uses these cliches to its advantage (see the title of the movie) and has enough heart to make it worthwhile. When you put the movie in the context of the genre (the beaten-to-death holiday rom-coms) this movie holds up very well.

Not my kind of film at all but am a big fan of Yang so decided to give it a go. Am glad I did. Yes, it’s predictable but its heart is in the right place and it is a lot more enjoyable than many other Christmas themed romance movies.
I actually thought this would be yet another movie that I would shut off within the first 15 minutes but man, I actually REALLY liked it!!
Corny nothing special, but since 2021 is a year of crappy movies this is worth a watch. Lets say it is a feel good movie.
I liked it. Exactly what it is, a Christmas romcom, and it doesn't shy away from that. It has the right amount of cheesiness, sarcasm and humour. The script is decent plus it has a good cast. I'd probably watch it again.
Exactly what you'd expect from a Christmas-y romcom. For me, this is a good thing.

It's a great Christmas movie. Fun and feel good with a little of the lessons of what make us happy versus what we think makes us happy. You'll laugh, maybe shed a tear or two and end up happy in the end. Isn't that what Christmas is really about?
