When I read the synopsis of Like Crazy I imagined a different film, I thought that I was about to see another romantic teenage drama but afterall it is a very interesting portrait about long distance relationships and the consequences of it.
In Los Angeles, Jacob and his British college collegue Anna fall in love with each other. Anna was supposed to return to the UK after graduation but she violates her student visa to stay with Jacob during the summer and because of that she was banned to enter in the US. They are madly in love. How a love like this can survive? That's what we see in this beautiful and heartbreaking little indie film.
Time changes people and what once was strong and powerful some unfortunate situations in life, like the one we follow in this story, can change everything and one day things can not be the same. Distance changed their feelings but there were always something inside of them that kept them together even miles and miles away from each other. But this film has an open ending and you are free to think whatever you want, and take your own conclusions.
What I liked more about this story was the fact that it does not follow the usual clichès. Everything about it is very honest.
Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin performances felt absolutely natural and real. Their chemistry was great.
It gives you some kind of sadness, since it's a romance far from perfect. This makes the film different and special. I really enjoyed the soundtrack by Dustin O'Halloran, who is one of my favorite composers. In fact, I watched the film because I have already listened to the music and loved it. It was a curious feeling recognizing every piece of instrumental music. x)
really love this movie, they never fully enjoyed their love and they never can live without the shadow of the other. But finally they got what they want, what lies ahead
A hugely underrated movie that not many have seen. If you are browsing comments to see if it is good enough to watch, it is.
It is one of the few movies that show you the real side of being in a long distance relationship. We get the see the ups and downs the couple has, how they overcome it and how it affects their relationship.
"I don't feel like I'm part of your life. I feel like I'm on vacation."
Man if relationships were always like this movie: You either die while in love or live long enough to become complacent. Sad reality for some but I will fight those odds.
Still can't believe you gone Anton...Movie is nothing special and it could be way better 6.4/10
The life cycle of love separated by distance. This is the first of two movies I've seen written by Ben York Jones and starring Felicity Jones and with both of them I was puzzled by the resolution. They both conveyed a very jaded view of love and I'm left feeling it was a great waste of talent. The actors make you fall in love with them (both Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin deliver) and then the writer lets you down. This will be my last Ben York Jones movie. I give this film a 6 (fair) out of 10. [Drama]

So sad and beautiful. I loved the ending, very realistic.
