LaRoy, Texas 2024

I didn't have any expectations regarding this movie, I found it randomly on "Trending now", and I liked the description. I kinda got lost in the characters, and who did what. However, I enjoyed watching this. The plot is stupid, and the cast is not the best, but it's definitely a nice "low tier" movie.

I have yet to watch a movie where I even slightly like John Magaro's character. He's very good, but man does he only portray sleazy, unlikable blokes

Texas based Fargo. The comedy, suspense, mystery, and story really blended well together. Steve Zahn stole the show, I just kept begging for him to come back on the screen. The music and cinematography felt like a great homage to Fargo, but Texas based, of course. I loved the way my mind was flying between 900 different theories, and I would have preferred a different ending, but what we got felt smart enough. It did skip through some things, but I like not knowing with a mystery like this. All that matters is that it made enough sense and was funny enough.

Loved this movie.. a little bit of Fargo, a little bit of Blood Simple a little bit of the Coen Bros. without them.
Plenty of twist and turns with quite a few laughs along the way.
9.5/10

Started interesting, a bit of Fargo feeling. But quickly got just boring.
Steve Zahn is entertaining as always though.

Over the years, I have seen a lot of movies that felt like Coen Brothers rip-offs. This movie very much has the feel of a Coen Brothers movie, but I dare say that it still managed to feel authentic. Everything about it was really fantastic - perfect casting, tight story, excellent musical choices, etc. Once the opening scene played out, I knew I was in for a treat.
