This movie and reality live in a different country.
Slow burn for the first half, but it got better as it went on. Kate Winslet was amazing, as usual. It was an enjoyable watch compared to my usual watching habits.
A Journey Into Relationships and Haunting Dreams...
Great movie, loved how dreamy everything is shot.
"I don't think losing my father broke my mother's heart, but rather losing love itself."
Some people might call this Stockholm Syndrome the Movie. I think it is a way of showing how loneliness can make you miss any human interaction.
This one takes quite a bit of suspension of disbelief. On the other hand, life is strange and so are we. I can't help but love a good, epic tearjerker, and this one does a lot of things right. The actors are excellent, so is the photography, pacing and editing. It vibed nicely with "Boyhood" that I had seen just the day before. It avoids quite a few easy tropes, and is all the better for it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Sure, it’s slow paced, but it works with the story. And it’s a great story. Love the era, the small town setting, the actors…everything. Definitely worth a watch!
It's a slow movie, but a good movie.

Wonderful story. Some things in life are worth waiting for, sometimes you can find happiness in the strangest places...
