I fail to understand the reason this exists. Maybe it is genre fatigue but I found this to be a completely pointless sequel/spin-off. For all of its faults, the parent TV show was engaging at the very least, this on the other hand is just so lifeless (admittedly, it's been a couple of years since I watched it so I might take a similarly dim view of the show on a rewatch).
It's just a boilerplate revenge flick with nothing to write home about. The actors are good, but everything else is executed by the numbers.

Now my sympathies have reversed and essentially see Zombie Pandemic as a good thing. If the Origin Story is to indicate anything Jun Ji-Hyun and Ju Ji-hoon are gonna another awesome chemistry like in Jirisan.

I am also liking that for her second innings Ji-hyun is going for strength and strong characters instead of glamorous and damsel type roles she is known for in MLAS and TLBS. Can't wait to see what she has in store for us in Season 3 .

P.S : Love that she burnt all the Zombie after wiping out the garrison but never intended to make it unstoppable apocalypse!

Revenge is a dish best served cold and undead.

Quite disappointing after the tv show was so great. Beginning was very confusing since it was never enough to just eat the plant, but apparently for everyone but the deer that’s still the case.
Also, Ashin‘s story is rushed through and only explains so much.

Although its rejuvenating to watch Jun Ji-Hyun's Ashin in a special set in the same universe as Kingdom, there isn't much to enjoy in the overlong story. Much of the problem emanates from overstretching the plot to an unnecessary 93 minutes when a stricter edit would have made it good. Not as good as the show but, not bad for a special.

I thought this was absolutely brilliant and a brilliant origin story for the series; Kingdom.

I want to say so much, but I don’t wish to let anything slip.

As far as zombie films/shows, South Korea are the best: Train to Busan, Kingdom and now this. They do excellent movies and show generally, if you haven’t already watched any others, I highly recommend you do.

A bit slow, a bit dark and a bit confusing, not bad but not as good as the series. One question, why are the poor people always have to have dirty faces all the time, the water was free :)

This is a sequel (and prequel) to the Koran series KINGDOM. I wonder if Netflix opted for this movie, to chart the origin of the resurrection plague of undead, rather than have the promised season 3. Kim Si-a and Jun Ji-hyun give convincing performances of the well fuelled avenging protagonist. The gore and zombies are not my thing (last 28 minutes, if you watched the series, you knew they were coming). I rate this series a 7 (convincing) out of 10. Zombie fans will rate it higher. Bit of a slow start, but for viewers unfamiliar with the series, it's very entertaining and beautifully filmed. Like a cross between The Last of Us and The Walking Dead, Michonne era pre community.

7/10 - for the kill shots
