Not Butlers worst movie...but it's far duller than it should have been. Watch The Covenant instead.
It is OK. A decent action movie including Butler, CIA, Iran, drones, nuclear, etc... Could be a little shorter but it's no big deal. 7.5/10

What is it with movie studios....? Two films with broadly similar premises within a month or two of each other. For 30 odd years, they've done this.
Just watch The Covenant, it's the better film of these two.
This one is short on action and long on tedium.

It's seems they didn't just settle for hiring a Bollywood actor, they ran the whole script through the Bollywoodomizer as well and what we're left with is this cheesy mess.
Also, I need to get me one of them KTM:s that does 400 miles (640kms) to a 3.8gal (14.5L) tank going full tilt through the desert.

A good portion of this movie was in dark lighting, so wear your night vision goggles.
Two hours is too long for this movie - first part of it was pretty boring. The ending is good though, Roman's scene got me for sure. It could be better, but it's okay.
Glimpse of how disgusting and deceptive countries can be for their own good.

The movie starts by depicting a cowardly, catastrophic and hypocritical act by a CIA agent as heroic, as expected from this type of movies. However, by the end of the movie, the movie succeeds in making you feel the main character is the hero and victim rather than a criminal, as he shares some emotional and insightful lines and fights to protect himself and his mission buddy. Despite the overlaying political messages, the movie did a somewhat decent job humanizing some of the conflicting parties rather than just blanket-painting every one of them as the same evil barbarians, and even alludes to the US's mistakes, failures, and misguided actions. So although the idea of the film might seem tired, I think this one had some good touches to make it a little more unique.
Not a bad movie, but also not the best. I just feel like this could have been better, the last GB movie I saw Plane was better than this.
Much better the Convenant. Multiple players, each with a different objective.

the 68% rating is too high for me, I've seen the movie and found it pretty boring. In fact the most boring movie I've seen with Gerard Butler so far. Me and my girlfriend - we both literally fell asleep waitchign despite all efforts (it was pretty late, but still). I'd rate it somewhere between 4-5. There are really better movies with a rating of 5.x, and in some occasions maybe even 4.x rating movies. The plot seems really dull, nothing new, nothing surprising really, all predictable, but the introduction is not as exciting as it normally is with Gerard Butler movies, also the whole plot overall. There was not a lot of action too somehow.
I was really looking forward to the movie and what can I say? I am disappointed. Very superficial story, superficial characters. Definitely one of Butler's weaker films.
Great movie, I had no expectations whatsoever and I’ve been positively surprised.
Okay maybe I expected too much of it. Nonetheless it could have been so much more if they had chosen the correct script. It seems the cut some scenes out otherwise it would have been a 4 hrs movie. But it could have been a shorter movie imo… and still do not know the thought behind some characters, as to me they do not add anything
Bland, but I enjoyed the night vision / helicopter sequence. Watch if you like 'splosions.
I haven't seen this yet, but the plot line is very similar to Guy Ritchie's The Covenant. Both take place in Afghanistan and involve a military man and his translator escaping what I presume are Taliban...
It's a Gerard Butler actioner with Navid Negahban offering heft to the co-starring role. If this is what you're after you'll be entertained. The political undertones are messy at best, but we still enjoyed it for what it was. A generous 6.7 to this one.

Just saw the movie as part of the Regal Mystery Movie. A decent Gerard Butler action movie but it's formulaic and has been done better even by himself. Check out in the theater if you see all of his movies otherwise wait for a home release of the movie.
My girlfriend said it reminder her of a 1990s video game.
