This is a baffling film. The synopsis of this film promised a story about Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman fighting to free Warworld from the clutches of Mongul. Instead, it's an anthology movie where each of the Trinity appears inexplicably in another time period and/or genre and meets a character from a lesser-known DC series. There's no connection to the greater story promised in the synopsis until the last 20 minutes of this 90-minute film. Worst of all, it's done in such a way that the first two segments are rendered utterly inconsequential. You can start watching with the third segment, the Superman segment, and you will not have missed anything of importance. You can do this sort of thing in an issue of a comic book or an episode of a TV show -- something where people EXPECT an episodic story. But to do it in a feature film is baffling and disappointing.
If this had been billed as an anthology movie or an Elseworlds film, it would have been fine. There's fun to be had in watching DC's top three heroes dip into other realms for a change. But as much as I hate to use the term, this feels like kind of a bait and switch. I always say that it's not fair to judge a movie based on what you WANT it to be instead of what it IS, but considering how this film was presented to the fans, I think this might be the exception to that rule.
Despite the synopsis of this movie sounding good sadly the first hour of this movie batman, superman and wonder woman are playing other characters in a number of scenarios with no real tie in to the justice league. It felt a very strange movie as you'll have no connection to the characters or know what's going on, however the last 30 is better and more classic.
Animation isn't that great, voice acting is good from Jensen but Stata felt like she was phoning it in.
Some enjoyment can be had with this if you stick through it but it's on the very low end of quality compared to the other movies
I don't understand why everyone hates this? do people not like elseworld storylines anymore? it's obviously not the best dcau movie, but it's fun and definitely passable, nothing like the abomination that was Legion of superheroes.
The story is serviceable and it seems like it was solely created to get Wonder Woman to present time (see: Justice Society: World War II) with Batman and Superman, so that they can lead into the next movie with the complete league.
Based on this movie's ending it seems that they are heading into some kind of event akin to "Crisis on Infinite Earths" which means that movie is going to finish the Tomorrowverse continuity. This is most likely because of the DC Studios announcement via James Gunn where he said that going forward all DC movies, shows, games will be connected and will have possibly the same actors working in all platforms. If this is the case, then it makes sense to have this movie and the next to reset the animated movie continuity.
Regardless of the context provided above, this could have been better written as Warworld provided unlimited opportunities for a movie backdrop. Warworld is one of the most imaginative places in the DC Comics to draw story from, which in turn makes this movie all the more disappointing as I had high hopes for it.
It's a decent film, but I wouldn't recommend it as the first film to watch as it may leave you confused due to the open ending. The concept is interesting, however, it was developed somewhat hastily, which can make it confusing. The quality of the animation is so-so, not really standing out, but the character design is pleasant. As for the ending, it becomes somewhat confusing, with an abrupt cliffhanger that seems to come out of nowhere.
You could skip the first 45 minutes and not miss anything consequential. It's obviously the first part of two-parter (at least) but I'm sure they could have told the whole story in one movie.

This is another no for me. A lot of the animated movies are really good - this one not so much.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
I hated this movie so much that I had to leave a smarmy comment on someone else's positive comment
I'll give them marks for trying a different approach to these animations however it doesn't work for me and was utterly bored by the end.
While not up to the standards of Classic WB/DC Animated I enjoyed this take on Elseworlds. An interesting premise that does pay off in the end while setting up the next Animated movie (one of the Crisis's (If that's even a word)).
As for the Animation I enjoyed the style(s) reminiscent of 90s Japanese without going into anime exaggerated style.
At least WB/DC Animated is willing to take chances with storytelling.

Again with this cheap animation. The writing is terrible and no heart. DC used to have amazing animated movies! To the point of outshining some live action movies up until the end of 2014. What the hell happened?? :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::cry:
