Expected A LOT MORE from this movie, if you want to watch a movie with much better pacing, better a written story and characters than this POS; then watch Skeleton key. A much better overal movie than this crap...
Such redneck voodoo movie, but at least the accent of the main characters was atmospheric. ;)
I was excited to watch this because I always enjoy good trauma-centric horror, but unfortunately this turned into a film about white fears of Black culture and religion, and the ending is like a weird, reverse Get Out.
I'm struggling to rate this because I found the plot overall pretty abhorrent but there were genuine jump scares, some really haunting visuals, and good sound design.
I wish the movie could've focused on the horrors of trauma, domestic violence, and being disabled in an abusive person's care. Instead we got white supremacist propaganda around fear of replacement.
As many other reviews will say, the pacing of this film is definitely a little slow. It takes too longs to get to certain points, and then leaves things hanging around in the air for too long as well. It is a glaring issue within the film and consists of the major negative of the film.
The acting is solid, the story (when it gets rolling) is enjoyable, the scares are well placed, and the horror reveal is a good take on a well-trodden idea.
If you're into horror you will probably enjoy the 80 minute run time. It would stand out more if the last few years had not been one of the most delightful revitalizations of the genre.
Not particularly scary or inventive, this horror begins well but ends badly.
Not a bad movie, but just a movie for teenagers, it's PG-13.
Terrible movie. Not scary, ridiculous story and most of all incredibly boring. A complete waste of one's time.

Anybody who knows me, knows that I am a sucker for a good horror movie and by good I mean a movie which scares the living crap out of me that does not involve blood and gore or someone intesnes falling out and limbs torn away..
I am more into the paranormal ghost stories that makes you afraid to look at your blind spot or turn around at night...
This movie did just that.
I do not know if it was the fact that I usually watch movies at night alone or what but that movie truly and utterly freaked me out..
Mixing Voodoo and good ghost story always did the trick for me, add to that a bunch of epically creepy scenes and well placed scares and you have got me hooked.
Once again I disagree with the critics.. The movie's Critical reception has been predominantly negative and the film holds a 24% "rotten" rating on Rotten Tomatoes (based on 21 reviews).
But, it really equally scared and creeped the hell out of me.. Which is as far as a horror movie goes is a success in my book..
Watch it..
