Damn. Everything I wanted for him at this point and more. He’s finally found the answers he wanted in 8, but that doesn’t solve everything. It’s a perfect capstone to all his other specials. It’s about his place in this black family and community, and if you saw his home videos you know them, and it makes this hit even harder. It’s raw, it’s honest, it’s heart wrenching, it’s incredibly sweet, and still very very funny. For all the pain and troubles ahead, he feels truly at peace with himself, and his charm and wit shine more than ever. Just stupendous.
