Invasion U.S.A. 1985

People will look back at this movie as being prophetic. May Chuck save us all!

To its credit, Cannon beat Commando to the box office by a couple months and gave us a stoic one-man-army that cracked wise before he killed the nefarious forces of communism. But that's about all it has going for it. It's bigger and it's louder than most of the Cannon movies that came before it and I might start claiming it as my favorite Christmas movie while the rest of you continue to joke about Die Hard but as far as Chuck Norris movies go, the equally as cartoonish Delta Force is a vastly better movie.

Such an over-the-top, insane little B-Movie actioner. The plot is paranoid and a little laughable, but it's not totally out of the realm of possibility. Chuck is hilariously more ruthless in this one than his other movies.

Invasion U.S.A. can be mistaken for an 80s fear-mongering, right-wing propaganda effort, but if that is the case...it's a bloody enjoyable one.

Invasion U.S.A. hasn't got all that much of a story. It's more like a number of action sequences stringed together to make up a movie, and the main "hero" is a one-dimensional war machine. I guess when viewing a Gannon feature, it's unavoidable. Even more so when the lead is played by "stone-face" himself. This doesn't mean you can't enjoy this film. It just means you have to be in the right mindset before viewing.

I enjoyed Invasion U.S.A. but be aware it's an acquired taste.
