Meh. Too dragged out.
Very bland, feels like the 90s equivalent of those Liam Neeson thrillers from the past 15 years. It’s so cliche and derivative to the point where there’s nothing memorable about it. The acting and directing feel low effort, it’s too long, some writing choices are very dumb and the small bits of action are just serviceable. It’s watchable, but I don’t recommend to seek this out.

I wish it was paced better, but 'In the Line of Fire' still makes for a good time.
Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich is a great line-up and both are entertaining in this, the latter is just terrific at playing a loopy bad guy. There's a fair few well known peeps behind them, including John Heard and Gary Cole - it's a fairly strong cast.
The story is an interesting one, though given that you'd expect the film to move along at a better pace but it kinda just walks through its 128 minute run time. It's not a drag or anything, but I definitely wasn't on the edge of my seat unfortunately. It's still a film I'd recommend, though.
A well acted thriller and tense thriller. With Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich at their best. Especially since Mallovich was type cast as a villain many times after this. Just never nearly as good as he was in this.
IN THE LINE OF FIRE IS AN ACTION THRILLER FROM WOLFGANG PETERSEN THE DIRECTOR OF THE CONSEQUENCE, DAS BOOT, THE NEVER ENDING STORY, ENEMY MINE, SHATTERED, OUTBREAK, AIR FORCE ONE, THE PERFECT STORM, TROY AND POSEIDON AND FROM JEFF MAGUIRE THE WRITER OF TIMELINE AND GRIDIRON GANG. STARRING CLINT EASTWOOD FROM DIRTY HARRY, BLOOD WORK, MILLION DOLLAR BABY, GRAN TORINO, SPACE COWBOYS, TRUE CRIME, ABSOLUTE POWER, UNFORGIVEN, A PERFECT WORLD, THE ROOKIE, PINK CADILLAC, THE DEAD POOL, EVERY WHICH WAY BUT LOOSE, ANY WHICH WAY YOU CAN AND THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, JOHN MALKOVICH FROM DANGEROUS LIAISONS, BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, BURN AFTER READING, ROUNDERS, CON AIR,
AND EMPIRE OF THE SUN AND RENE RUSSO FROM RANSOM, LETHAL WEAPON 4, THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR, NIGHTCRAWLER, BUDDY, TIN CUP, GET SHORTY, SHOWTIME, BIG TROUBLE AND OUTBREAK AND I RENTED ON VIDEO AND DVD.
Really like the pacing of this one. I'm sure I watched it as a kid but cannot remember a single scene. It started slow and eventually built.
Rally scenes were impressive - great 4k bluray.
A bodyguard, he has a new opportunity to save the president.
I wish I could have watched this movie as a 10-year old at a sleepover. That would have been the context where enjoyment would have been most possible. As an adult, though, this was a hard pass. Eastwood is boring, it’s filled with paint-by-numbers cliches, and it squanders the wonderful Rene Russo. Regressive and dull, all-around.
My first “old” movie on 4k UHD Blu-ray. I’m impressed. My expectations were high but I’ve get much much more. Only two scenes were softened. Whole movie transfer to 4k is blessing to eyes. Sharp, bunch of details, perfect contrast, vivid colors. I think it’s better than in theatre release. Sound is quite good.

This was one of the first films I watched in the cinema. Loved it then and I still enjoy it now.
It's a really solid thriller where you can guess the nding but the journey is just as enjoyable.
Clint is excellent at being a film star. The supporting cast are solid. The story is good. The script is just a little functional though.
An 80s film made in the 90s and I cannot complain at that.
Well worth a watch if you've never seen it.
