This is a film about the the struggle with depression and mental illness. Not just the people that suffer with these things but the people that are around them and are thus affected. It's awkward to try to give this a theatrical rating because of the importance of the topic. I thought it did a fantastic job traversing all of the struggles that come with this area. The first half of the film felt kind of hallmarkish but the film really "takes off" (there isn't a great way to say that) in the second half. Sarah Silverman is a revelation, especially as her character is really on the precipice of some real darkness. The final scene is amazing.
