The ending is everything, and also the after-credits part is brilliant. I don't know if I liked it this much because I'm interested about human eye, it's structure and so.. But in general,I enjoyed it.
For a full and emersive experience of the story, I recommend this movie to be seen with little to no prior knowledge. The movie is an underated masterpiece.
Reasons Why:
The cinematography is one of the best qualities of this picture, from close ups to 360 degree wide angles, the director really shows off a skill of visual story telling
The plot will keep you on your feet.
The dialogue feels robust and poetic for the entire movie
The acting was superb.
The way scenes are cut together, gives it the feel of a slow burn, but picks up after the pivotal moment.
The little things.
A poorly discussion about the confrontations of science and religion, and don't even get me started on the metaphysics stuff.
So what does the after-credits part mean?
Some sort of gov. cover up?
Was just an ok movie. Watched it a few hours apart since I got bored a bit.
Weak writing, obnoxious characters, theist propaganda.
Majestic, the movie has a special flow, quite slow but that increases the beauty and the way that light is treated in open spaces. Mike Cahill will become a filmmaker to follow.
Absolutely the most stupid movie I've ever watched, a complete wast of time.
Like a haunting melody where the ghosts in the notes might be real.
A scientist who studies eyes believes he's discovered concrete proof there is no God, until it seems he's proven the contrary.
This mix of romance and metaphysics isn't usually my style, but approaching it from a scientist's point of view gave me a solid base from which to stand and watch the film.
Faith / Science? What would you do if something scientific disproved your religious beliefs? / What would you do if something spiritual disproved your scientific beliefs? This is what I like about SciFi movies (and especially productions in which Mike Cahill and Brit Marling partner), they explore questions we might not ask ourselves if not prompted by good art. I think good art always addresses the lens through which we perceive life. This is that kind of a movie. Not that I think it will sway someone from one polar position to another, but, maybe, it is just enough to prompt a person to ask themself the question, "What would I do if something ... disproved my ... beliefs?" This isn't just a thinking movie it also entertains and has romance. Great cast (I'll watch any movie with either Brit Marling or Archie Panjabi but to have them both in the same movie? Gold. And, I was introduced to a new actor, Astrid Berger-Frisbey, whom I will now be following). Good script. I give this a 7 (good) out of 10. [SciFi Drama]
A good idea, quite wasted with too many impossible scenes (finding a girl in India? out of 1.3 billion people? And she's right there?)
This was so dumb it made Paulo Couljus books look like textbooks on behavioral psychology.
Amazing acting. Amazing story. Amazing movie. I was a little disappointed at the ending though.
This film is very boring. If you like art and spiritual films, than this is perfect for you.
How was his wife getting out of the cab at the end? she was in America on Skype not 10 minutes earlier :joy: I loved the beginning of the movie with Sofi, it was more ethereal with the synchronicity especially and then it turned into a different movie after 7 years later - still, I enjoyed it and after all I was meant to watch it at this exact time, I had never seen nor heard of it before.
good movie but not as amazing as people say. first half was really wired.
second half was better
A nice, charming (at least in the first half) and lowkey contemplative film. I've enjoyed the most part of it, even feeling like it lacked a "something" to keep me 100% immerse in it's narrative.
Despite that, can we STOP the whole exotic woman trope, please? Give some normal, average, non-she's-cute-because-she's-awkward women a chance.
A guessable plot with unremarkable characters but well put together and uplifting
7.2 A big suprise i am glad i discovered this movie exists! Blow mind and emotional enough i reccomend this!
i found it completely boring.
can't take my eyes off you
Interesting movie, really enjoyed watching it. The concept of past lives has always been an interest to me so this struck that chord wonderfully.
I like that movie but this movie is it based on true events?
I pretty much liked this movie.
Though it was a bit depressing at the end.
A new favorite one! :)
The last seconds of the film have to be wachted.
The ending is quite powerful
